9 Reasons to Believe in the Sox

1. Still in first, even if tied, with two of the best players in the lineup missing for 26 games and counting.
2. Archrival 15-11 with everyone in their lineup entirely healthy but their fifth starter.
3. We OWN the Yankees.
4. Curt
5. Manny (he’ll help pay Pedro!)
6. Tek
7. I know who Steinbrenner votes for.
8. I know who Ari Fleischer roots for.
9. SF’s wife is expecting, and I know, come October, who the new bundle will be cheering for!

  • Why do you bother with the emotional investment in the Sox? I mean, you do know that they are going to blow it, don’t you?
    You do know that?

  • After SF’s remark in the Ladder to Nowhere section I feel reluctant to continue to post to this site, but I will try my best. (Seems like SF was taking out his frustrations on this site.)
Regarding number 2, you forgot about Lofton

  • Chill, JCL, you are very welcome here. I was just peacocking.

  • Also, it should be noted that yes, I am frustrated, but it’s just a normal 5 game losing streak frustration, not an apocalyptic free-fall is here frustration. There’s a big difference there, especially for a Sox fan.

  • No biggie. I’m fine. I was frustrated that I went to sleep and missed the Yank comeback.

  • I know Lofton is injured, but I am not sure how significantly he actually improves the team, so I left him out of the equation. They don’t miss him very much, as far as I am concerned. They can plug in a much better than the norm sub than the Sox can for Trot or Nomar.

  • They do miss Lofton’s glove and speed, not to mention Bernie has been hitting miserably. Although, as of today, the best Yankee outfield to send out there is Matsui, Sheff and, of all Yankees, Sierra. Sierra is taking great swings and having good at bats; he’s also hustling.
