A Bit of Thanks, Perhaps?

One thing the Yankees owe the Red Sox (and also the Twins, I suppose) thanks for, without a doubt, is the locking up a playoff spot. Without the current hot streak by the Red Sox, the Yankees would be looking back at two, perhaps three teams racing towards them, not just the Red Sox. Because the Sox have been so hot, and because it has come the last two nights at the expense of the Angels, the Yankees sit 7 games ahead of the nearest Wild Card chasers. The Twins have handled the Rangers, pushing them even further back. So the flawed Yankees may yet win the division, but it appears that even if they don’t do that they have very little to worry about, regarding making the post-season.

So Yanks fans everywhere, thank those Sox and Twins, however hard that is for you to do, for without these two teams panic would really be setting in, and George would be issuing even more cliche-ridden and semi-literate statements for us all to laugh at.

  • When I asked Sox fans to thank the Yanks for beating the Rangersa few weeks ago I got a f**k the Yankees from SF.

  • Noted. Then why are you soliciting thanks as if you are one?

  • Because I like seeing the reactions of Yankees fans.
