Afternoon Delight: Rox-Phils NLCS Gamer

The big action comes a little later toward evening in Cleveland, but playoff baseball begins today in Philly with game 2 of the Rocks-Phils series. The Rocks took game 1 behind Jeff Francis. The pitching matchup this afternoon is Franklin Morales against Kyle Kendrick, two rookies. So go figure it. Like Paris Hilton, both of these teams are super-hot and know how to get it done from behi Both of these teams are really winning a lot lately and sure do know how to make up a deficit! • A grand slam for Kaz Matsui?
    Inconceivable!

  • Kyle Lohse(!) is in relief with the bases loaded. What could possibly go wrong?
And of course as I was typing this, Matsui hits a grand salami to give the Rox a 6-3 lead. He of the 4 regular season homeruns. Niiiice.

  • Anyone else see this?
Corpas was caught by TBS cameras on Wednesday taking a sip of a liquid out of a cup and then pouring some down the back of his neck and all over the front of his jersey. Corpas, who earned the save in Colorado’s 4-2 win, patted his chest and rubbed his fingers before throwing a pitch.

  • 10 already? These Rockies are going to be a pain in the ass, even for an AL team. Certainly gave the Yanks fits this year.

  • They took 2 out of 3 from the Sox, too.

  • “Rockies: Scariest team in the playoffs.”
I did not have 2007 circled on my calendar for the year that statement could have been true.
