Much thanks, John!
Daisuke with two quick outs. Dare we hope for a 1-2-3 inning?
Two 3-1 counts, but 12 pitches and down 1-2-3. Good follow-up on the scoring, Mr. Nice Dice.
By the way John, my brother started throwing a weird curveball; he holds the ball like a splitter (with the fingers forked over the seams) but throws it like a curve. Supposedly it has VERY strange movement, though I haven’t seen it yet.
Daisuke: 3 innings, no walks, just 45 pitches. Almost unheard of!
A win today would be really great …
Oh f*ck Jacoby just cut his face open on that catch, and hurt his wrist pretty bad. Shit shit shit shit shit SHIT.
Wow, after a 10 minute injury delay Jacoby stays in the game. Jays broadcasters complaining about how long it took to decide.
Ath ask him if he pushes off with one finger? Finger positioning is odd but he may just use his pointer as a guide.
Overbay hit a solo shot last inning, so it’s 4-3 Sox. Pedroia walks with one out in the 5th.
Two-seamer is killing lefties for Daisuke…think I’ve seen at least three people give up and strike out looking on it.
After 5 still no walks from Daisuke. 76 pitches. Pity he’s prone to the long ball today. Some insurance needed.
76 through 5 for Daisuke. Doing pretty good except for the two longballs.
Heh, pale blue eyes. I was so outposted, there.
As Brad asked yesterday: why are they pitching to Vernon Wells?
It’s not a race, Devine …
God bless COco! Tie game!
Not talking about a race, talking about posting the exact same content as the poster before me.
But then you’re not outposted … it’s just great minds thinking alike, isn’t it?
Can the bottom of the order please get a lead for Paps now!! We really don’t need an extra inning affair at this point in the season, even with tomorrow’s off-day.
Single from Tek but that’s it. Now I’ll take extra innings.
Papelbon in, for two if necessary?
Paps grounds out the side on nine pitches. Extra innings.
B.J. Ryan also gets the side on nine pitches.
Where is everybody, by the way?
Sorry, I’m putting together a table while listening to the game from the other room.
Another 1-2-3 inning for Paps, seven pitches this time, aided by a great catch from our new leftfielder.
JED F*CKING LOWRIE!
Jays broadcaster: “Lowrie has done great for the Sox since being called up to replace Lowell two weeks ago”
Jed Lowrie!!!!! 6-5 Sox. With Paps at 16 pitches do we bring him out for another inning?
Delcarmen to pitch the bottom of the 11th, Joe C. says. Please don’t blow this, Manny, please!
Wells, Lind and Overbay due!!
C’mon, MDC, let’s end the streak of one-run road losses. You can do it!
Delcarmen walks Wells. At least he did not let him hit a home run.
Lind grounds into a force. They get Wells at second.
Overbay flies out to Coco. One more out to go. Bautista up.
Holy shit he actually did it! We won a series from Toronto! On the road! Hooray!
Swinging strike. Red Sox win the game and the series. When was the last time we took a series from the Jays? What a great win!
Between the blow-outs we seem to be doing alright.
And now on to the Bronx for the last series ever at old Yankee Stadium (I don’t see the Rays falling to third place, so a meeting with the Yanks in the ALCS seems unlikely).
At Comiskey, Konerko drives in tying run (it scores when the 3rd-base coach foolishly sent the runner but the catcher couldn’t handle the throw with the runner 5 steps up the line.)
Top 10, CWS 5, Ray 5.
Great win for the Sox. All the more gratifying for being unexpected.
Now let’s hope that the Orioles help out the Jays in their quest for third place by beating the Yankees. Not looking too promising at the moment, though.
scoreboard watching the jays…fun stuff…hahahahaha
Victory. Needed that win.
i mean rays…even funnier
not so surprising really…dice k is your ace, and now your most reliable starter…could be worse, you could have rasner and ponson
ChiSox poised for a possible walkoff win in the bottom of the 10th… 1 out, runners at 1st and 3rd. Would love to see Boston pick up a game on the Rays, obv.
AJ leads off the 10th w/single; advances on deep flyut to center, 1 out; Dye up, grounds to ss, AJ gets in pickle, then leans into Aybar after he runs by after throw, illegal contact by Aybar ruled, umps rule AJ safe, put him at 3rd.
CWS 6, Ray 5, final
I’m confused, Bill. ESPN and MLB.com both show only one out, but it would appear to me there are two…
In any case, Ramirez just singled in the winning run, theeeeee White Sox… WIN!
So the White Sox win it in 10. Not quite sure this is a good thing, but as I think we still have a legitimate chance of winning the division I like it for now.
Twins leading the Angels 3-1 in the 6th. Definitely not a good thing. Angels already setting up their play-off rotation?
It looked like an out, but the umps ruled the interference, so there wasn’t actually an out.
And AJ leaned into Aybar but the refs still called interference against Aybar. That was a play somewhat reminiscent of the Slappy play in 2004. Hell, try it. Worse that can happen is that you’re out anyway.
Angels take a 5-3 lead in the bottom of the 8th against the Twins.
