And Then, Depression Set In. Yanks-WhoCares Gamer

But I have a great trivia question.. later. Tanaka’s been told to put his elbow through the magnetron. Hey, at least we have the clean-shaven Brandon McCarthy and his league-leading average-ness on the mound against the Tribe. Nothing against Brandon, but… &%*$! Another STARTER down, leaving Kuroda the sole survivor of the season’s rotation.

Sigh.

Um.

Okay.

How many times have there been two players whose first names started with the letter “Z” batting back-to-back in a lineup, ever? I have no idea, but it happens tonight as Zoilo Almonte and Zelous Wheeler sort to what would be a great answer to that trivia question.

Comment away.

  • Now THAT was a great game. While nothing can lift the dark cloud of Tanaka-arm-trouble, it is very nice to see the Yankees pull out a tough one on a night when Baltimore and Toronto both lost. At the end of the day, it’s hard to see how this team can stay where it is let alone make up the ground they still need to cover when they’ve only got 1/5th of their rotation working and the least power I can ever remember in a Yankee line-up, no one is running away with the AL East and I just really like the guys on this squad.

Nice catch on the names ag. Too bad they weren’t batting in the 1 and 2 slot or you could have run with some ZZ-Top jokes…
