Another Long Night? Yanks-Sox Gamer II

It is not surprising that the two teams scored 16 runs combined in the season opener. These teams averaged over 11 runs combined spanning the 18 games last season. A.J. Burnett had one decent outing against the Red Sox in the Bronx August 7th of last season. In his other three starts, he was clobbered and ineffective, especially at Fenway. He takes the mound tonight while Jon Lester gets the rock for the Sox. Lester fared slightly better against the Yankees, winning one game out of his four starts while allowing 11 runs over his 22 innings and averaging almost 11k/9ip. Lineups follow, comment away.

Wow MLB.tv is really buggy so far. Took me about 20 tries to get the video to load, and about halfway through that inning the audio switched from the NESN guys to YES. Damn.

Frankly, I’m more excited these days for FX’s new series Justified. I shall not be listening to the game through the hours of 9 and 10 tonight.

I dunno Ath, pull him for who? I could see bringing in Bard or Oki, but is Tito that kind of manager to put his relievers in before the late innings?
But that should definitely be his last inning. Lots of hard-hit balls.

I’ve had some time today to get the score and standings module working. Seems to be tight for the scores, but let me know if you see any foul-ups. Standings will pop up soon. Thanks :)

Thanks, IH, though I’m nowhere near genius. I hope these new scripts work well enough.
If anyone has issues, go to the author page to find my email address and tell me your browser/OS combo along with the date and time where something broke.
My thanks to you guys.

There must be a brawl in the stands??? Did you see everyone looking away from the field during that ridiculously called strike in the dirt???

Whew.
(Funny how awesome Marte was in the playoffs, but completely awful the rest of the time?)
Joba in now. I have no confidence in him anymore sadly…

Agreed kreug, I’m going to watch that later tonight!
Okay, so good job Marte, I guess. Now does Joba get to blow the lead with his 92-mph fastball?
Awesome.
Why bring in Robertson at all? Now you have one less very good pitcher in the likely event of a tie game.
Joe is a very good long-term bullpen manager, but this kind of stuff is just straight-out silly.

I worship at the altar of Mo, but i would really like osme insurance here. April in Fenway is not his best venue and if you saw his last spring taining appearance it was literally the worst I’ve ever seen of him (including in other spring training games!). Let’s give him another couple runs please!

I’d like to get a loop-tape featuring a Derek Jeter single hand clap, a Joba 360 fist pump, Derek Jeter holding his hand up to the home plate ump before each pitch, and a close up of A-Rod’s lips and play it for my SF friends at every opportunity.

YANKEES WIN…THAAAAAAAAA YANKEES WIN!!!!
That’s better. Rubber game tomorrow. Great job boys! Besides going 1 for 60 with RISP and the 87 LOB…

You too IH! See you guys, talk to you later in the game tomorrow…krueg’s been hitting the gym so I have to tape the beginning of Lackey in the Sox uniform. That should be INTERESTING!!!

Joba’s performance was encouraging since my friend and I had decided only yesterday that “Eastbound and Out” might be a prescient description of his career. That’s good.
Didn’t get to watch Burnett, but the numbers don’t look so hot. And the Yanks’ offense has to be given credit for knocking to great starters around on back to back days.
