    krueg June 9, 2008, 1:24 pm
  • No coffee…just ready for a Yankee win streak!!! Plus I’ve lived in the South for the last 15 years so I’m used to the heat…

    krueg June 9, 2008, 1:25 pm

Just nod if you can hear me.
    Is there anyone at home?

    krueg June 9, 2008, 1:33 pm
  • A bit optimistic today, eh? =P

    Lar June 9, 2008, 1:35 pm
  • Godzilla grounds out, Thong Stache deep fly to center…out. Cano pops out in foul ground. Garbage inning.

    krueg June 9, 2008, 1:40 pm
  • lar: I’m moody when it comes to my teams. :)

    krueg June 9, 2008, 1:40 pm
  • ABREU MADE A PLAY IN RF!!! STOP THE PRESSES!!!! Another 1,2,3 inning for MOOOOOOOOOSE!!! Looking good so far…bottom 3 to follow.

    krueg June 9, 2008, 1:49 pm
  • Moose goes through 3 innings. Yay!

    Lar June 9, 2008, 1:49 pm
  • Molina just chucked his bat in the stands…almost killed a guy!

    krueg June 9, 2008, 1:55 pm
  • Sumo wrestlers are faster than Molina…

    krueg June 9, 2008, 1:57 pm
  • Can’t beat up on the rookie.. still, let’s go Yanks!

    Lar June 9, 2008, 1:58 pm
  • You guys are way more entertaining than the actual game.

    rootbeerfloat June 9, 2008, 2:00 pm
  • krueg taking charge this game.. =) I’m usually more active on the day games (on the weekday) but busier at work today..

    Lar June 9, 2008, 2:01 pm
  • Molina ground out, Melky K, Damon pop…0-0 going to the 4th.

    krueg June 9, 2008, 2:01 pm
  • It’s all good Lar…I’m sitting here by myself so why not??? I have a feeling that they are going to get this kid the second time through the order…

    krueg June 9, 2008, 2:02 pm
  • Moose getting two relatively quick and painless outs, but here comes the red hot Guillen..
who grounds out before I finished typing this.

    Lar June 9, 2008, 2:03 pm
  • Moose with an efficient 48 pitches, 33 for strikes after 4.
Hochevar at 44 pitches, 28 for strikes.

    Lar June 9, 2008, 2:04 pm
  • BIG K FOR MOOOOOOOSE!!!! 2nd K…1 out.

    krueg June 9, 2008, 2:05 pm
  • Lar are you play-by-play or the color analyist??? :)

    krueg June 9, 2008, 2:06 pm
  • Abreu checked!!!! This Ump is awful…kinda like Hillary Clinton!!! Two bad calls so far…

    krueg June 9, 2008, 2:08 pm
  • Jeter grounds out, Abreu K’s on a BS call and ARod grounds out…top 5th coming up on the KYN!!! (Krueg Yankee Network)

    krueg June 9, 2008, 2:10 pm
  • The kid pitching for the Royals comes from an athletic family…Dad played for the Nuggets in the NBA, Mom was a college basketball player and sister plays volleyball in college. (i wonder if she is hot?)

    krueg June 9, 2008, 2:12 pm
  • K #3 for MOOOOOOOOOSE!!! 1 out

    krueg June 9, 2008, 2:12 pm
  • Michael Kay is taking about Moose never sweating…it’s hard listening to him sometimes.

    krueg June 9, 2008, 2:13 pm
  • =) Usually I’m the play by play, but probably as excited as JS when something happens.

    Lar June 9, 2008, 2:16 pm
  • ANOTHER 1,2,3 inning for MOOOOOSE!!! He’s retired 11 in a row…bottom 5 coming up on KYN.

    krueg June 9, 2008, 2:16 pm
  • I’m much more excitable…not sure if you are a hockey fan but Rick Jeanerette is my mentor. He is the play-by-play guy for the Sabres…best in the business!

    krueg June 9, 2008, 2:17 pm
  • For those interested…here is Hochevar’s sister:
    http://www.flickr.com/photos/18982952@N04/2559398971/
    Not bad…

    krueg June 9, 2008, 2:18 pm
  • Moose at 59 through 5. That’s pretty good, even though KC is usually aggressive (yesterday aside).
Let’s hope the Yanks get it started though, still only 1 hit through 4, with no walks.

    Lar June 9, 2008, 2:20 pm
  • And that hit came during the first AB for the Yanks. So they’re in a bit of an 0-fer.

    Lar June 9, 2008, 2:21 pm
  • But at least they aren’t giving away ABs, Matsui on a 4 pitch ground out, and Giambi grounds out after 7 pitches.
    Still, results matter.

    Lar June 9, 2008, 2:22 pm
  • Godzilla grounds out again, Thong Stache does the same, Cano hits a double! We’re in business…two out rally time!!!

    krueg June 9, 2008, 2:25 pm
  • And Speedy Molina step to the dish…

    krueg June 9, 2008, 2:25 pm
  • Cano gets one and then another on Guillen’s error, so RISP, here’s Molina.

    Lar June 9, 2008, 2:26 pm
  • promptly goes down 0-2…nice.

    krueg June 9, 2008, 2:26 pm
  • 3 pitch K…awesome. 6th to come…

    krueg June 9, 2008, 2:27 pm
  • How stupid is the “endless pool”??? Why not just buy a full sized, real pool?

    krueg June 9, 2008, 2:28 pm
  • Joba is going to bat on Friday…he bragged that he could hit. We’ll see…BACK TO THE GAME!

    krueg June 9, 2008, 2:29 pm
  • Single to lead off the 6th for KC…

    krueg June 9, 2008, 2:30 pm
  • So that’s what a bunt looks like!!!! 1 out, runner on 2nd…

    krueg June 9, 2008, 2:31 pm
  • Pirates are beating the D-Backs 5-1 in the 7th if anyone cares…I doubt anyone does. Or that anyone is even reading my sterling play-by-play!!!

    krueg June 9, 2008, 2:32 pm
  • Fly out to center…2 outs. 1 more Moose!!!

    krueg June 9, 2008, 2:33 pm
  • Hoch at 70 after 5. I don’t know if there’s any leash on him.
In the meanwhile, Moose is still, knock on wood, pitching well, and definitely deserves the win if the Yanks can give him a lead. I think Moose gets a bit hittable in the later innings, so it might be imperative that they score, like, now for Moose to have a reasonable chance to win.
In either case though, unless he blows up right now, he’s very likely to earn a quality start, if anyone’s keeping track of such things..

    Lar June 9, 2008, 2:34 pm
  • Moose still throwing high 80s (88s and 89s) fastballs, which I take as a good sign.

    Lar June 9, 2008, 2:35 pm
  • Ground out to Cano to end the inning!!! Moose is SOLID!!! Who is this guy??? How about getting some runs in the bottom 6 boys??? Please???

    krueg June 9, 2008, 2:36 pm
  • Could come down to the bullpens in this one…that statement makes me nervous.

    krueg June 9, 2008, 2:37 pm
  • And Moose at a very efficient 69 pitches after 6. I still wonder how much “gas” Moose has – he has been getting into a bit of trouble in his ~22nd or so batter. He has faced 20 batters thus far.

    Lar June 9, 2008, 2:38 pm
  • Melky first pitch ground-out…1 out.

    krueg June 9, 2008, 2:38 pm
  • Sheryl Crow’s Ex is in the booth!!! Talk about performance enhancing drugs…but it’s OK because he had ball cancer??? Never understood how he got away with it…

    krueg June 9, 2008, 2:39 pm
  • Ya, Melky doing Hoch a favor right there, though Hoch still hasn’t walked a batter, so maybe it was reasonable.

    Lar June 9, 2008, 2:39 pm
  • Damon pops out to left field…

    krueg June 9, 2008, 2:39 pm
  • Damon flies out. The Yanks aren’t fighting for it this game..

    Lar June 9, 2008, 2:40 pm
  • Lance seems like a prick to me…

    krueg June 9, 2008, 2:40 pm
  • …he was awful in Dodgeball.

    krueg June 9, 2008, 2:40 pm
  • Right? Where’s the fire? Maybe they all went out with ARod last night to some strip clubs???

    krueg June 9, 2008, 2:41 pm
  • Jeter flies out to the warning track in right….YAWN. Going to the 7th. This game is faster than a 17 year old on prom night!

    krueg June 9, 2008, 2:42 pm
  • Dan Marino was AWESOME in Ace Ventura and Bad Boys II by the way…best athlete turned actor EVER!

    krueg June 9, 2008, 2:44 pm
  • One pitch, one out to start 7th for Moose…

    krueg June 9, 2008, 2:44 pm
  • Hoch at 79 pitches after 6. A pitcher’s duel between Moose and Hoch.

    Lar June 9, 2008, 2:45 pm
  • Teahan petitions for Moose to stay in the game by grounding out on the first pitch. Sweet!

    Lar June 9, 2008, 2:45 pm
  • Double off the wall for Guillen…

    krueg June 9, 2008, 2:46 pm
  • Gordon pops out on one pitch…two outs. Come on MOOOOOOOSE!!!

    krueg June 9, 2008, 2:47 pm
  • 0-2…hung a breaking ball. f_ck.

    krueg June 9, 2008, 2:48 pm
  • Guillen breaks through with a double, with Gordon flying out.
Unforunately Olivio HRs to put the Yanks in a 2 run hole.

    Lar June 9, 2008, 2:49 pm
  • another single…

    krueg June 9, 2008, 2:49 pm
  • “you have derailed…”
    Richard (David Spade)
    Tommy Boy

    krueg June 9, 2008, 2:49 pm
  • Bullpen is starting to stir…looks like Edwar. Can’t he afford to eat now that he is out of the Independant League??? Jeez man…have a cheeseburger or something.

    krueg June 9, 2008, 2:50 pm
  • Moose stays in. Still at a very efficient 76 or so pitches.

    Lar June 9, 2008, 2:51 pm
  • And another out. Day and night all of a sudden.

    Lar June 9, 2008, 2:52 pm
  • Another hit…fat Abreu trots to the ball, almost allows even slower Buck to score. Corners, two outs. I am now pissed off. I hate Abreu. Maybe he should eat less and give his extra food to Edwar…or feed a few neighborhoods in the Bronx.

    krueg June 9, 2008, 2:52 pm
  • Gathright finally ends the damage. Still, 2-0 KC.

    Lar June 9, 2008, 2:52 pm
  • Ground out…thank god. Moose was solid. Now we need some hits. 7th inning stretch…

    krueg June 9, 2008, 2:53 pm
  • Ya, meant to say “another hit” instead of another out.
Still a good start for Mo, if the Yanks can ever swing the bat.

    Lar June 9, 2008, 2:53 pm
  • God bless America, land that I love
Stand beside her and guide her
Through the night with the light from above
From the mountains To the prairies,
To the ocean white with foam
God bless America, My home sweet home.

    krueg June 9, 2008, 2:54 pm
  • Meant to say “Moo”, but in any case..

    Lar June 9, 2008, 2:54 pm
  • They are too tired from counting their money to be bothered with hitting…it’s also really hot.

    krueg June 9, 2008, 2:55 pm
  • (switching from upbeat, positive, energetic krueg to pessimistic, pissed off, sarcastic krueg)

    krueg June 9, 2008, 2:55 pm
  • Dough Boy hits a double to the gap in left!!!! (Abreu for those not in tune with me)

    krueg June 9, 2008, 2:57 pm
  • This would be a good time ARod…

    krueg June 9, 2008, 2:58 pm
  • 1-0

    krueg June 9, 2008, 2:58 pm
  • Abreu starts the inning off strong with a double. Let’s at least get one run back.

    Lar June 9, 2008, 2:58 pm
  • 1-1 swung over the breaking ball as always…be patient AROD!!!!

    krueg June 9, 2008, 2:58 pm
  • 2-1 ARod over .300 after 7th with RISP…

    krueg June 9, 2008, 2:59 pm
  • 3-1!!!! NICE!!!

    krueg June 9, 2008, 2:59 pm
  • ABOMB!!!!!! ABOMB!!!! ABOMB!!! CRUSHED TO RIGHT!!!! 2-2!!! MVP, MVP, MVP!!!!

    krueg June 9, 2008, 3:00 pm
  • They weren’t going to give him much to hit, it seems..
    Until Hoch hung a curveball.
    TIE effing GAME.

    Lar June 9, 2008, 3:01 pm
  • I love ARod so much when he is hitting and playing well!!!

    krueg June 9, 2008, 3:01 pm
  • Looks like a flat slow changeup, and Alex said thank you very much, may I have another.

    Lar June 9, 2008, 3:01 pm
  • I have my ARod jersey on so…I will take full credit for that one. He heard me tell him to be patient…he was like, “OK krueg, I got you!”

    krueg June 9, 2008, 3:02 pm
  • He likes slow changeups…that and blonde strippers. :) Of course, who doesn’t like blonde strippers so…

    krueg June 9, 2008, 3:03 pm
  • And that’s it for Hoch. Ramon Ramirez in to pitch.
So if Moose comes out after this inning, at least he’s off the hook. Bullpen battle time!

    Lar June 9, 2008, 3:03 pm
  • pitching change…some rightie from KC’s bullpen. (names not really important to me)

    krueg June 9, 2008, 3:04 pm
  • Matsui grounds out on 5 pitches. Here comes the recently clutch Giambi.

    Lar June 9, 2008, 3:05 pm
  • That makes me nervous Lar…our bullpen is schizophrenic.

    krueg June 9, 2008, 3:06 pm
  • Thong Stache not having a good game…K. 2 outs.

    krueg June 9, 2008, 3:07 pm
  • Wow, Giambi looked bad on that sequence, swinging and missing..

    Lar June 9, 2008, 3:07 pm
  • Cano ends the inning.

    Lar June 9, 2008, 3:08 pm
  • Still, now it’s a 2 inning game.

    Lar June 9, 2008, 3:08 pm
  • Cano is the third out. Who will pitch the 8th for the bombers??? Joba? um…no. Dave Righetti? Nope. Goose Gossage? He’s kind of a dick. Does it really matter? Not unless it’s Mo. They said on the pregame that Farnsworthless has sand in his vagina so I would guess Edwar “Please give me a sandwich” Ramirez…

    krueg June 9, 2008, 3:09 pm
  • MOOOOOSE continues!!! Ballsy Joe…ballsy.

    krueg June 9, 2008, 3:10 pm
  • Ross and Edwar warming in the pen…

    krueg June 9, 2008, 3:11 pm
  • Moose is still in the game, after only 81 pitches. He will probably be replaced as soon as there’s a runner on the base, so here’s to a 1-2-3!

    Lar June 9, 2008, 3:11 pm
  • GREAT SLIDING CATCH BY JOHNNY!!! 1 out

    krueg June 9, 2008, 3:12 pm
  • GREAT SLIDING CATCH BY JOHNNY!!! 1 out

    krueg June 9, 2008, 3:12 pm
  • Great sliding catch by Johnny for first out!!! nice.

    krueg June 9, 2008, 3:12 pm
  • So good, kreug had to say it three times.. =P

    Lar June 9, 2008, 3:13 pm
  • It was triple post good it seems… *rimshot*

    krueg June 9, 2008, 3:13 pm
  • Two quick outs and here’s Teahan. Let’s go Mooo!

    Lar June 9, 2008, 3:14 pm
  • two outs on a groundball to Cano. This is Moose’s longest outing of the season so far…Melky catches the third out on the warning track. What an AWESOME game by MOOOOOOOSE!!!

    krueg June 9, 2008, 3:14 pm
  • Once again, Teahan helps Moose out by flying out on one pitch. Was actually very dangerous though.. but here it goes, 8 good (maybe lucky) innings from Moose, and the game is still tied at 2.

    Lar June 9, 2008, 3:15 pm
  • We are representing today Lar!!! This is fun. I should quit my day job and do this full time!!! Of course once all the regulars see this later, they’re probably going to ban me… :) ESPECIALLY THAT SF CHARACTER!!! (just seeing if he is lurking)

    krueg June 9, 2008, 3:17 pm
  • Posada comes in for Molina.

    Lar June 9, 2008, 3:17 pm
  • HIp Hip Jorge PH for Molina and BAM…leadoff single.
    p.s. Jorge’s wife is gorgeous!!!

    krueg June 9, 2008, 3:17 pm
  • Moeller will pinch run for HIp Hip???? Is he any faster???? Melky…eye of the tiger baby…let’s go!!!

    krueg June 9, 2008, 3:18 pm
  • and promptly singles to lead off the inning.
Moeller comes in to pinch run (really?) and here’s Melky.

    Lar June 9, 2008, 3:19 pm
  • OMG…Melky with the bunt!!! HE WAS SAFE!!! THESE UMPS ARE FROM BOSTON!!! JERK OFFS!!!! SAFE BY A MILE!!!! NOT EVEN CLOSE!!!
    Moeller to second. 1 out.

    krueg June 9, 2008, 3:20 pm
  • Melky gets down a bunt, and Moeller now in scoring position with 1 out.
Let’s go Yanks! Let’s go Damon! And we’ll have Mo for the 9th!

    Lar June 9, 2008, 3:20 pm
  • Do we have Mo for the 9th? He pitched in two straight games, so a third might be a stretch..

    Lar June 9, 2008, 3:20 pm
  • The Ump at first is the asshole that called out Giambi the other night on the check swing…what a douche!!! Montague was born in 1948…time to hang them up you old bastard!!! Or at least get some bifocals…jeez.

    krueg June 9, 2008, 3:21 pm
  • Mo is warming.

    krueg June 9, 2008, 3:22 pm
  • Ramirez not giving Damon anything good to hit.

    Lar June 9, 2008, 3:22 pm
  • Yuck, Damon strikes out swinging.

    Lar June 9, 2008, 3:23 pm
  • Here’s Jeter with two outs.

    Lar June 9, 2008, 3:23 pm
  • Damon called out by the third base ump on a check swing…it was close. It comes down to Jeter…he’ll get a hit.

    krueg June 9, 2008, 3:23 pm
  • 1-0

    krueg June 9, 2008, 3:24 pm
  • 1-1 on an awkward swing.

    krueg June 9, 2008, 3:24 pm
  • 2-1

    krueg June 9, 2008, 3:25 pm
  • 2-2 off Jeter’s foot…bad pitch to swing at.

    krueg June 9, 2008, 3:26 pm
  • 3-2
    53,643 at the stadium

    krueg June 9, 2008, 3:26 pm
  • WALK…Abreu time. Best average with 2 outs and RISP in MLB!!! Over .500!!!

    krueg June 9, 2008, 3:27 pm
  • Jeter works out a walk as Ramirez clearly did not want to lose the game right there just yet.
    But here’s Abreu..

    Lar June 9, 2008, 3:27 pm
  • Pitching change…some Asian dude.

    krueg June 9, 2008, 3:27 pm
  • Yabuta comes in to face Abreu.

    Lar June 9, 2008, 3:29 pm
  • Not really 53,643 at the stadium, huh Lar? Unless they are counting invisible people..

    krueg June 9, 2008, 3:29 pm
  • Ya-booty in for KC…Abreu is going to rock him. Hiroshima style…(too soon?)

    krueg June 9, 2008, 3:30 pm
  • 1-0

    krueg June 9, 2008, 3:30 pm
  • 2-0

    krueg June 9, 2008, 3:31 pm
  • 2-1 off speed pitch…

    krueg June 9, 2008, 3:31 pm
  • 2-2 looking…

    krueg June 9, 2008, 3:32 pm
  • fouled off…2-2

    krueg June 9, 2008, 3:32 pm
  • CLOSE!!!! 3-2

    krueg June 9, 2008, 3:33 pm
  • Full count..

    Lar June 9, 2008, 3:33 pm
  • Abreu grounds out weakly like a jerkoff…top 9. Moose or Mo???

    krueg June 9, 2008, 3:34 pm
  • A high-ish borderline ball that Abreu probably had to swing at, but can’t do anything with it except to ground out to first.

    Lar June 9, 2008, 3:34 pm
  • We have ourselves a barn-burner Lar! I predict an ARod walkoff HR to win in the bottom of the 9th…

    krueg June 9, 2008, 3:35 pm
  • Wish I could be watching this game. Thanks for the updates, guys.

    attackgerbil June 9, 2008, 3:35 pm
  • Moose only at 89 pitches. I can go either way on him, though I didn’t think he would come out to pitch the 8th either.
That said, Guillen is up next, so if it was up to me, I’ll let Mo face him.

    Lar June 9, 2008, 3:35 pm
  • Mo is in…they heard you Lar.

    krueg June 9, 2008, 3:36 pm
  • Joe agrees with me, and here we go!

    Lar June 9, 2008, 3:36 pm
  • No problem AG…we aim to please.

    krueg June 9, 2008, 3:37 pm
  • See the hot blonde to the left of the Modells sign??? WOW…sorry, back to the game.

    krueg June 9, 2008, 3:37 pm
  • Mo gives up a homer????? WHAT THE HELL????

    krueg June 9, 2008, 3:38 pm
  • WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON HERE??? I want to puke right now.

    krueg June 9, 2008, 3:38 pm
  • Sigh. Well, if he was going to hit it off Mo, he was going to hit it off Moose. But still, that’s a tough way to go.

    Lar June 9, 2008, 3:38 pm
  • Mo getting rocked two of three games…color me concerned.

    krueg June 9, 2008, 3:39 pm
  • How does some journeyman nobody come in to our house and ass rape us??? makes no sense…

    krueg June 9, 2008, 3:40 pm
  • Was it first pitch?

    attackgerbil June 9, 2008, 3:40 pm
  • And on an 0-2 pitch too, after some fouls.

    Lar June 9, 2008, 3:40 pm
  • Damon maybe could have caught that…would have been a “web gem” but I’m just sayin’…

    krueg June 9, 2008, 3:40 pm
  • Alex Gordon grounds out easily. 1 out.

    Lar June 9, 2008, 3:41 pm
  • ’cause it was the other night and then Mo was super efficient after that. Seems like guys are just going for the fences on the first pitch.

    attackgerbil June 9, 2008, 3:41 pm
  • Olivo strikes out. 2 out.

    Lar June 9, 2008, 3:41 pm
  • K…la-ti-fricken-da 1 out

    krueg June 9, 2008, 3:41 pm
  • 0-2.. oof. Never mind.

    attackgerbil June 9, 2008, 3:41 pm
  • whoops…two outs.

    krueg June 9, 2008, 3:41 pm
  • Interestingly, I think all of Mo’s runs were scored on tied games, though I might’ve missed a game here or there. He’s been perfect in save situations..
    Ah well.

    Lar June 9, 2008, 3:41 pm
  • another K…damage done. Mo did not do his job and could cost us the game. Now the pressure has doubled for ARod and we all (all three of us) know what that means…

    krueg June 9, 2008, 3:43 pm
  • Mo probably trying to get out of the inning too quickly – maybe a sign of fatigue?
Buck strikes out, so Rivera threw 13 pitches, 12 for strikes. Maybe a little too aggressive, but still.
Here’s the Yanks in a must-score situation, with ARod, Matsui, and Giambi coming right now.

    Lar June 9, 2008, 3:43 pm
  • I’d guess regression to the mean on the homers off Rivera. No one can maintain for a full season the insane numbers he was putting up…

    Paul SF June 9, 2008, 3:43 pm
  • No one is perfect but this will be a tough one to lose. Back to .500, gaining no ground, still looking like an average team…

    krueg June 9, 2008, 3:44 pm
  • Here’s Soria, who Giambi destroyed last time out. Is it asking too much to ask for an encore?

    Lar June 9, 2008, 3:44 pm
  • KC closer in…can he choke Mo style too?

    krueg June 9, 2008, 3:45 pm
  • ARod 0-1

    krueg June 9, 2008, 3:45 pm
  • 1-1

    krueg June 9, 2008, 3:45 pm
  • BASE HIT!!!

    krueg June 9, 2008, 3:45 pm
  • squibbler down the third base line…SAFE!!!

    krueg June 9, 2008, 3:46 pm
  • It happens, let’s not get too carried away with the descriptions against Mo..
Alex does get an infield single to start off the inning. Let’s bring him in, guys!

    Lar June 9, 2008, 3:46 pm
  • Godzilla 1-0

    krueg June 9, 2008, 3:46 pm
  • this is no time to argue Lar…focus!
    1-1

    krueg June 9, 2008, 3:47 pm
  • 1-2

    krueg June 9, 2008, 3:47 pm
  • Let’s go Godzilla. He’s 0-fer for the day, but if ARod can steal a base to help out, that would be great..

    Lar June 9, 2008, 3:48 pm
  • Godzilla flies out to center…1 out.

    krueg June 9, 2008, 3:48 pm
  • Come on Thing Stache!!!!

    krueg June 9, 2008, 3:49 pm
  • 1-0

    krueg June 9, 2008, 3:49 pm
  • thong stache

    krueg June 9, 2008, 3:49 pm
  • Not enough small ball. If ARod had stolen, he might’ve been able to run on Gath to third. Let’s go Giambi!

    Lar June 9, 2008, 3:49 pm
  • 2-0

    krueg June 9, 2008, 3:49 pm
  • 3-0

    krueg June 9, 2008, 3:50 pm
  • Pitching away to Giambi, and challenging his opposite hitting power. Probably not a bad strategy, though if Giambi could work out a walk to advance ARod, that would be appreciated too.

    Lar June 9, 2008, 3:50 pm
  • Now a very dangerous 3-0 pitch coming up.

    Lar June 9, 2008, 3:51 pm
  • 4 PITCH WALK!!! first and second,1 out…here comes Cano.

    krueg June 9, 2008, 3:51 pm
  • Meaty will run for Thong Stache…don’t we have any speed at all???

    krueg June 9, 2008, 3:51 pm
  • cano 1-3 today…o-fer all time vs. soria

    krueg June 9, 2008, 3:52 pm
  • 0-1

    krueg June 9, 2008, 3:52 pm
  • And Giambi walks on 4 pitches, choosing to go after Cano instead.
    Betemit now running for Giambi.
A double steal would be interesting – if ARod gets thrown out, you’ll still need a basehit from Cano to tie the game anyhow. And with Moeller hitting after Cano (and can’t pinch hit) it might or might not be wise, as a base hit would win the game if successful..

    Lar June 9, 2008, 3:52 pm
  • Giambi draws a walk.
My irrational hatred of Giambi continues.

    Micah-SF June 9, 2008, 3:52 pm
  • 0-2…took two fastballs right down the middle. not sure what he is looking for???

    krueg June 9, 2008, 3:52 pm
  • Cano stares at two borderline strikes, before fouling the third. Let’s go Cano!

    Lar June 9, 2008, 3:53 pm
  • then cano swings at a pitch WAY outside and low…fouled down third base line

    krueg June 9, 2008, 3:53 pm
  • Cano strikes out, and here’s Moeller with the tying run in scoring position.

    Lar June 9, 2008, 3:54 pm
  • cano k on a shitty high pitch…god he sucks at the plate. kid needs to get it going at some point? right? RIGHT?
    chad moeller for the tie/win.

    krueg June 9, 2008, 3:54 pm
  • HIT MOELLER!!!! BASES LOADED FOR MELKY!!!!

    krueg June 9, 2008, 3:55 pm
  • Moeller takes one for the team, and here’s Melky trying to at least tie the game.

    Lar June 9, 2008, 3:55 pm
  • He took that one for the team…barely even moved. nice.

    krueg June 9, 2008, 3:55 pm
  • Melky 2-4 lifetime against soria

    krueg June 9, 2008, 3:55 pm
  • come on wild pitch!!!!

    krueg June 9, 2008, 3:56 pm
  • Wow. You can’t script this.

    Lar June 9, 2008, 3:56 pm
  • Totally inexcusable for Soria to hit Moeller there. You can’t load the bases with the worst hitter in the other team’s lineup.

    Micah-SF June 9, 2008, 3:56 pm
  • 1-0 crowd on their feet!!!!

    krueg June 9, 2008, 3:56 pm
  • And that’s the game. Tough loss, guys.

    Micah-SF June 9, 2008, 3:57 pm
  • Melky ground out…Yankees lose….theeeeeeee yankees lose!!! I’m so pissed. back to .500. couldn’t match our best record of the season at 2 games over .500.

    krueg June 9, 2008, 3:57 pm
  • And Melky ends the game.. for the worse. Had their chances though, but not enough. Even Moeller did his part.
The Yanks lose another heartbreaker to KC after winning the slugfests. A split with the lowly Royals is not what the Yanks need to get back in this race..
Can’t blame Moose though, gave it his all, even if the result did not reflect this.

    Lar June 9, 2008, 3:58 pm
  • wasted mooses outing…he was great. bats were pathetic. we split with the lowly Royals at home. But hey, we’re heading out west and we always kick ass out there!!! not. here’s to losing two out of three in Oaktown. I’m out.

    krueg June 9, 2008, 3:58 pm
