Buchholz’s Last Stand: Sox-Cards World Series Gamer IV

There should have been a 10th inning yesterday. The umps blew it enormously–calling a baserunner tripping over Middlebrooks interference on Middlebrooks. Horrible way to lose.

Just have to swallow it and go to the next game, where Buchholz throws the final start of his season, hoping to even the World Series at 2 games apiece. The hard road. Comment away.

  • It’s on the offense for not getting to Kelly and on Salty for making that fucking terrible throw to 3rd (DON’T throw to 3rd with 2 out, Red Sox!) and Middlebrooks not getting a glove on it, but still a CLUSTERFUCK of a call by the umps. Maddening. Shame to possibly lose on that.

  • Lose the series, I mean. I want Game 4 to start right this fucking minute and Game 3 “ended” like 15 minutes ago.

  • Dude gets up on the wrong side of 3rd (headed toward 2nd), SHOVES Middlebrooks to the ground, and it’s “obstruction” on M’brooks. Again, the Red Sox probably deserve to lose this game, but what in the fucking fuck was that?

  • Also, I woke up angry after a few hours of sleep…might try to go back to bed now, but could be a lost cause.

  • Couldn’t thread yesterday, back now. Seems that after game 1 everything that can go wrong does go wrong.

Cardinals take the lead helped by an Ellsbury error. This is not fun at all.

    And Lou Reed died today!

  • Intentionally walking the no 8 hitter to get to the pitcher. Oh, the excitement of NL baseball.

pale blue eyes October 27, 2013, 9:33 pm
  • Two on, nobody out. Do something, Bogey.

pale blue eyes October 27, 2013, 9:45 pm
  • Patience again. Walk, bases loaded.

pale blue eyes October 27, 2013, 9:48 pm
  • Papi makes it home as the ball gets away, but Gomes stays at second. Tie game.

pale blue eyes October 27, 2013, 9:50 pm
  • Don’t bunt if you can’t do it, damn.

pale blue eyes October 27, 2013, 9:50 pm
  • Gotta take the lead here.

pale blue eyes October 27, 2013, 9:53 pm
  • Ross strikes out and that is for Buchholz. Carp does not get it done. One run is not enough in that situation.

pale blue eyes October 27, 2013, 9:57 pm
  • Gomes looks awkward. But as long as he catches them …

pale blue eyes October 27, 2013, 10:04 pm
  • Fantastic inning from Doubie. I have high hopes for him next season.

pale blue eyes October 27, 2013, 10:05 pm
  • We need another Papi moment here.

pale blue eyes October 27, 2013, 10:16 pm
  • Letting Kelly and Lynn last so long will be a big reason the Sox lose this series if it ends up that way.

    Devine October 27, 2013, 10:16 pm
  • They don’t give him the moment but four balls instead.

pale blue eyes October 27, 2013, 10:17 pm
  • Besides big reasons like not hitting a lick, throwing to third base unnecessarily, getting screwed by umpires, some major mistakes by the manager and so on ..

pale blue eyes October 27, 2013, 10:21 pm
  • A Johnny Gomes moment!!!!

pale blue eyes October 27, 2013, 10:23 pm
  • Gooooooooomes!!!

    Devine October 27, 2013, 10:23 pm
  • 12 outs …

pale blue eyes October 27, 2013, 10:25 pm
  • Truth, throwing errors to third basically summarize the losses this far.

    Devine October 27, 2013, 10:26 pm
  • No walks, Doubie, please.

pale blue eyes October 27, 2013, 10:30 pm
  • Doobie, you magnificent bastard.

    Devine October 27, 2013, 10:33 pm
  • Another 1-2-3. I’d let him hit and then have him pitch the 7th.

  • are any of you guys baseball rule geeks?

    soxgirl October 27, 2013, 10:45 pm
  • Buchholz/Doubie combined made a pretty good start.

    Devine October 27, 2013, 10:52 pm
  • It would have been a double anyway, but Gomes looks terrible in the outfield.

  • Not I, soxgirl.

    Devine October 27, 2013, 10:53 pm

  • Why does Breslow suddenly suck so much?

pale blue eyes October 27, 2013, 10:57 pm
  • I’m trying to google what happens when there are more than nine fielders on the team and I can’t find anything.

    And Breslow makes me cry

    soxgirl October 27, 2013, 10:57 pm
  • NL Mr. October up as tying run.

    Devine October 27, 2013, 10:58 pm
  • Man, fuck off, Breslow.

    Devine October 27, 2013, 10:59 pm
  • Utter failure. Come on, Taz.

    Devine October 27, 2013, 11:00 pm
  • Breslow should not get to throw another pitch in this series. But where does that leave our pen?

pale blue eyes October 27, 2013, 11:00 pm
  • Strike 1 for Taz.

pale blue eyes October 27, 2013, 11:04 pm

    Lackey in the 8th?

pale blue eyes October 27, 2013, 11:04 pm

  • Papi’s hot these days.

pale blue eyes October 27, 2013, 11:10 pm

  • Breslow probably will be good again in the regular season.

pale blue eyes October 27, 2013, 11:15 pm
  • Lackey, eh? Desperate times…

    Devine October 27, 2013, 11:23 pm
  • Xander did not get the calls. Time for Lackey to protect the lead.

pale blue eyes October 27, 2013, 11:23 pm
  • Isn’t he supposed to pitch game 7?

    soxgirl October 27, 2013, 11:25 pm
  • Xander gets Adams. Five to go.

pale blue eyes October 27, 2013, 11:26 pm

pale blue eyes October 27, 2013, 11:46 pm
  • Descalso grounds out. Two to go.

pale blue eyes October 27, 2013, 11:47 pm
  • I love Koji, I do. But he looks like he hasn’t slept in days and it stresses me out. Maybe he needs one of those eye de-puffing cremes.
