Bullpen Bullsh*t

Keith’s angry (shocker!).  Mike’s jealous (is he serious?). Tito’s clueless (who knew?).  What do we want?  Him. Lots more of this guy.  For Myers to shut up. And for Foulke to go back here, on this

  • With the end of the season fast (but not fast enough approaching), watching this Sox team is like riding in the Millennium Falcon. You want to say: “Come on, baby. Hold together.” You’ve got to like your chances if you can make it to hyperspace, but the Evil Empire is closing in…

  • Amazing how all it takes is one debacle of a game and a few comments from players for the media and the fans to start freaking out again. [Sigh]
And for the record, I think it’s really, really stupid for anyone to be drooling over Craig Hansen at this stage. HE HAS NEVER PITCHED AT THE MAJOR LEAGUE LEVEL. It is completely unrealistic to expect anything from him this year, assuming he even gets called up.
Papelbon, on the other hand…yeah, I wouldn’t mind seeing more of him if current trends continue.

  • SFiVT: Read Myers. Read Foulke. It’s not the FANS who are freaking out, it’s the PLAYERS. And I wouldn’t mind seeing what Hansen can do; he can’t be any worse than Keith Foulke at this point.

  • Re: Hansen. Very true, but because this guy has such potential, I’d hate to see him become the next Cla Meredith. And I still say it’s crazy to put all your bets on a 21 year-old kid with no major league experience. Sure, he COULD be the next K-Rod, but you can’t guarantee it.
Re: Panic. I did read the articles before I posted. I think the players would be well-served to keep this stuff in-house, because when they speak to the media, things often get blown out of context and it has a ripple effect across the Nation. I’ve been hearing panic all across the internet today from fans (“This is 1978 all over again!” (and this is no lie–I’ve read this in several places)) and I just don’t think it’s warranted. And it’s making me cantakerous because I can’t seem to find one rational Red Sox fan today.
Course, now that they’ve beaten the Jays, maybe I can. [Sigh]
