Came across this historical reminder while reading Baseball Prospectus:

The [1994] strike also spared MLB the embarrassment of a sub-.500 division winner: George W. Bush’s first-place Texas Rangers were 52-62 when the season ended.

Why does the Rangers first-place record seem just so damn appropriate, prescient?
