CC seemed to finally right the ship in his last outing, though Soriano’s blown save kept him from getting the win.
A second straight dominant start from the Yankee ace would go a very long way in calming the jitters in Yankee-land. He faces off against rooking Samuel Deduno who is sporting a 15.63 ERA in his last two starts.
Productivity is about to drop across the NY metropolitan area as the Yanks play a rare weekday day-game before heading to Toronto to start the last seven games of the season tomorrow.
Comment away…
Deduno wiith a lightning quick firrst inning K’ing Icchhiro and Cano… Cano with prettty diving play to rob Span of a leadoff hit here in th B1….
AMAZING play by Swisher and Cano on the swining bunt. One of the best plays of tthe year. Woiw.
I’ve been staying away because I didn’t want to jinx the streak…but now that we are back to normal.
This is beyond fucking pathetic. How on EARTH are they not foaming at the mouth to win this game. After BLOWING last nights win and giving the O’s another shot, there is NO excuse to not light up this fucking scrub rookie pitcher.
I just cannot believe they are still pulling this shit.
After Granderson gets himself picked off first, Deduno walks Chavez and now and the trainer have a 5-mminute session on the mound witth Deduno who is pulled for Dunesing with 2 outts in the 2nd. Not sure what the injury was – replays give no clue…
Welcome back kkrueg!!! Stick around!!
Yanks release the hounds on Duensing in the 3rd. 6-1 good guys. This really should be enough for CC to let fly Let’s see…
Negative reinforcement was clearly needed here.
And for the record, CC has made Mauer look SILLY for 2 K’s. That’s impressive.
Only 1 out Chavez…
Could have had 2. Unreal.
Hat trick of K’s for Mauer.
CC is on.
Coming into this game CC’s record against Mauer AND Morneau was already pretty extreme. I think they are hitting a collective .170 or something like that off of him with an inordinate number of strikeouts. He apparently just owns them. Makes it tough for the Twins to do much against him…
Enjoy the added pressure Baltimore…
cc
With the O’s blowout last night they’ve actually got themselves to a -1 run differential on the season, so it now looks very likely that they’ll end the season in positive run differential territory, if just barely…
In terms of full out robbing a dude of a homer, this might be the best catch I’ve ever seen:

Wow Devine – thanks for that. Hadn’t seen it. I still don’t think it beats Gary Mathews, Jr. from 2008 (http://mlb.mlb.com/video/play.jsp?content_id=13118995), but yeah – that was pretty amazing.
