Phillies broadcaster Harry Kalas and 1976 AL ROY Mark Fidrych died today.
Didn’t Fidrych, who was from Worcester and was killed on his farm in Northborough, Mass., try to make a comeback with the Red Sox in the late 1980s?
Make that the early 1980s. He signed with the Red Sox in 1982 but never pitched with them. I seem to recall the Red Sox having a day in his honor, too.
