Clemens, Pettitte Asked To Testify To Congress

Roger Clemens and Andy Pettitte received their invitations on Friday, along with Brian McNamee and Kirk Radomski (edit: and Chuck Knoblauch), to appear before a congressional committee on January 16th.  Minority staff director David Marin said that "We always presume that invited witnesses will appear," and also said, "It could be a circus with players, true."

True indeed.

  • The witch hunt continues. I dont understand what this does. Doesnt congress have more important things to spend their time on?

  • Not during primary season, they don’t. Crap wouldn’t get done right now anyways.
Even as someone who thought the first Congressional hearing and the Mitchell Report were necessary and helpful, I too fail to see how exactly this new hearing will be constructive. Congress must love finger-wagging!

  • I wish Clemens would come clean and admit that it wasn’t B12 or Lidocaine that was injected into his buttocks.
    It was obviously Botox.
Contrary to popular misconception, Botox isn’t just for the ladies anymore. Dudes need to use Botox also to keep their skin firm and wrinkle-free. Roger is just embarrassed that his macho Texas image would take a hit if he fessed up to using it to keep his butt pretty.

  • Anyone care to explain why only the former yankees named in the report were called before congress? There are so many other players named and they pick these 3. This thing stinks to high hell…

  • The only explanation is that there they’re targeting Clemens and they want this to be a highly watched event.
