Congratulations Blue Jays!

No, not the ones from Toronto. We mean those other birds from Baltimore, the Johns Hopkins University Blue Jays, 2005 NCAA Men’s Lacrosse Champions. It had been a long time coming (since 1987!) but our alma mater, with a pair of dramatic come-from-behind victories against UVA and then Duke, more than salvaged our weekend by taking its 36th national title. Yes, you read that correctly: 36 titles. More even than our beloved Yanks.

As they say at Homewood: “1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 , 7, 8, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30, 31, 32, 33, 34, 35, 36. We Want More!” Many more.

  • Can’t say that I’m a huge lax fan, but anytime Duke loses is time to celebrate. Congrats, YF.
