The Yankees have signed Brett Gardner to a four year extension, $52M, club option for a fifth year. This is most excellent.

Well-played, Yankees. Reasonable deal for a good player.
Perhaps my favorite of many classic ag-post-titles. And I love Gardner. Criticism of this deal that I have seen elsewhere seems to me clearly unfounded. It is, as you say devine, a very good deal. It does throw into rather sharp relief the eyebrow-raising length and cost of the ellsbury deal, but oh well. Gadner feared free agency as he himself acknowledged and he likes where he is so all’s well. Love watching the guy play. Wish he ran more. Perhaps ells can school him a bit.
Quality move. Gardy is underrated for sure. Pretty sweet outfield with Brett, Jacoby and Beltran the next few years.
