Sorry about that.. time zones had me mixed up. Here's a place to ponder what the heck is wrong with Freddy, as he's already given up two runs. Max Scherzer is known for giving up the long ball. Let's get them back. Comment away.

Verlander wins tomorrow…
AJ loses BIG on Tuesday.
Yet another first round choke job.
Want to know why we are going to fucking lose this series???
I give you $800 billion worth of worthless baseball players:
ARod:
0-for-8, 1 RBI, 1 BB, 2 SO, 0-for-3 with RISP
Tex:
1-for-7, 0 RBI, 1 BB, 2 SO, 0-for-1 with RISP
Krueg, I know it’s your thing, but come on brother! Listen, this isn’t a “choke”…Scherzer was lights out, unhittable yesterday. Sometimes you just need to tip your cap to the opposing team man. There were some really good things to take out of yesterday including the fact that they were able to do some work against their bullpen. In the end it wasn’t enough, but they showed their bullpen isn’t shut down. In addition, the rain blows man…Cano doesn’t (in my opinion) roll over on that pitch if it’s not a monsoon out! The advantage goes to the pitcher in that situation it’s so tough to hit with rain falling, especially that kind of rain. All in all, no excuses though. They need to go out today and scratch out a victory against the best pitcher in the game this year. It’s not an easy task, but you do what you can. Like I said last week these Tigers are pretty damn tough, especially when you get pitching like you did yesterday.
Finally, please get rid of the 5 game series! Nobody wants it, not the managers, not the players, no one. A 5 game series is so difficult to win for anyone, not just the pitching challenged Yankees. I just don’t think you get a true showing of how good or bad a team is in 5 games. Just my opinion.
From ESPN.com:
“Rodriguez is now hitless in the first two games of this series, 0-for-8 with a walk, and has stranded three runners in scoring position. Since the 2009 playoffs concluded, he is hitting .179 (7-for-39) with no home runs and just three RBIs in the postseason.”
Choke is just another term for failure John…we are fucked. I hope I’m wrong, but it sure seems that tonight is the series.
Two letters. A. J.
I don’t know John, it’s tough to hit when it’s raining like that but I think it’s much harder for a pitcher to throw strikes.
I’d agree if it were a pitcher with non-power pitches. He’s (Valverde) throws a splitter and a FB correct? Those aren’t feel pitches, they are grip and rip type pitches. The rain does make it more difficult to locate for sure, regardless of the pitch and you saw he was having trouble there. No excuses, as I said though. Hitting in the rain with rain dripping in your eyes and you trying to hang on to the bat is a bitch. Sucks for both teams as I said, just hate rain in general.
Even Mother Nature is against us…
More ESPN nuggets:
Game-time temperature is supposed to be between 55 and 60 degrees, according to a check of Weather.com.
The Yankees did not fare well in those conditions this season, going 14-13, which we know thanks to neat recent additions made at Baseball-Reference.com. In fact, all three of their games in Detroit earlier this season were played in such temperatures. The Yankees lost all three. The Tigers were 19-16 in such conditions, 10-6 in their home ballpark.
I am afraid…so very afraid…
