Disaster Strikes!

The Yankees could not ask for a worse start to the second half. (Well, a loss tonight would make it worse, but god forbid.) Chien-Ming Wang has been placed on the 15-day DL with a sore shoulder, leaving the Yankees with exactly two (marginally) healthy starters, Moose and the Unit. Pavano also will need another two weeks.

Cash’s acquisition of Tim Redding (who will take Wang’s start) and Darrel May is looking ever more fortunate, and rumor is another deal is in the works for the Rockies’ Shawn Chacon. None of these options should give Yankee fans any confidence. Feh.

  • More bad news for the Bombers: Bronx Banter reports Wang’s injury, to an already surgically repaired shoulder, may put him out for the year.
In a related story, Cashman will be holding open tryouts at the softball field in Central Park tomorrow morning. Time to dust off that knuckler!

  • Let’s get a box of Kleenex ready in the dugout when Schilling is crying just after the game is over, when the cameras are on him.

  • Was it a Boston writer that wrote “Come late September, this is going to look like Secretariat at the Belmont in 1973”? AHAHAH Of course it was…who else can be so pretentious as that than a BloSux beat writer.
Was it a BloSux player (ahem, now closer) who said “When I think of Yankees…..I don’t think of A-rod”…AHHAHHA of course it was..who else can be so pretentious as that than a BloSux player. Now he’s going to need a box of Kleenex in the dugout.
Oh and also this..the joy of October baseball in 2005 already predicted..no wait…GUARANTEEED..where else but in Boston.
    http://www.boston.com/sports/nesn/wilbur/sports_blog/blog/2005/07/14/convincing_time/Simmer down folks.
Oh and don’t forget to look at ALL the headlines here..
    “Bring on the Bombers”
“Not so secret weapon returns” (and implodes)
“Real rockstar takes centerstage tomorrow” (till the 5th inning giving up 5ER)
    I can’t imagine anything funnier.
    What a joke.
The Summer of Excitement is here.

  • Summer of Excitement?
Really? Yanks just lost Wang for maybe the year, Moose was less than stellar tonight against Boston’s third pitcher, and for two of these games AA starters are showing up for the Yanks! Yeah, Summer of Excitement for anyone in a series with them for the next month.
Also Owned 38 – get a grip on yourself you friggin retard. It’s one game in a series of four. We know the season has been long for you – losing to teams wih winning records and all, but blosux? I’d tell you what else blosux, but I don’t even know your mom.

  • Whoa…I’m was just as upset as the last guy, but if someone could please delete that post I would appriciate it. I was in no way connected to that post, and maybe someone should step up and take credit for their sutpidity. I have posted here long enough for all regulars to know that I would never write that kind of stuff to anyone on here. I slipped once and called Nick an idiot in a moment of haste, but I’d never go that far. Anyhow, please delete the post or at least remove my name from it. Thanks Guys.
