Double Dose: Rays-Sox Gamer II/III

With rain pummeling the east coast last night, the Sox have a day/night doubleheader to make up for lost time. Technically, their April record was .500 at 13-13 (they also lost one at the end of March, so 13-14 overall). Felt like it was worse than that. After today, they’ll either be 3 under, still 1 under, or 1 over .500.

The morning/afternoon game features Ramos/Peavy, while this evening’s game showcases Archer/Doubront. Have a good Thursday, and comment away!

  • Probably boring as hell to neutral observers, but the Sox are taking an awful lot of pitches driving up the pitch count. One run to show for it so far.

  • Only one run … as Middlebrooks leaves the bases loaded.

  • Down 2-1 in the 7th with a man on 1st, one out. Come on, Papi!

  • Man, looks like Ortiz might have had the game-tying double, but Pedroia out at the plate and the replay provides no conclusive evidence that he actually touched the plate. He did beat the tag by a fraction of a second.

  • What a waste. A game that should never have been lost.

  • Can’t believe the Red SoxSox took the lead back in game 2…or that they subsequently squandered it…our that they had a leadoff double in the 8th and didn’t score. Urbana for the 9th in a tie game…assassins instant home run. Fuck baseball anyway.
