Get Your Sunday On: Sox-Rays/Jays-Yanks Gamer III

Rock the end of the weekend with Happ vs Greene at Yankee Stadium (where the Jays won for the first time since 2012 last night) and Webster vs Archer in St. Pete.  Yanks have played very well since the break, Sox have sucked and sealed their place as sellers.  Let’s see if the Sox can salvage a game and if the Yanks can win another series.

  • Jeter had a hitch in his transfer but still got Dioner Navarro to get that first out in the top of the sixth.

  • Nice piece of hitting by Dan Johnson.. flailed at a slider, took a fastball, and then sent a fastball to the left corner. Now the Jays plated a run with a double to LC from Rasmus on a fastball.

  • David Huff comes to the mound. Comeback grounder, looks Rasmus back to second, makes the play to first. Two gone.

  • Francisco completely shatters his bat, nubbing a fastball off the end of the stick on a pitch he chased out of the zone low away, resulting in an easy out and much kindling.

  • Brett Gardner hits a hard comebacker to Happ, where the ball pops off his glove.. he recovers, chases it down behind the mound, and throws off-balance and low to first but Bautista stays with it to tally Gardner. FANTASTIC play. Wow.

  • MFRS Ellsbury is having a good at bat. Happ is not fooling him yet.

  • Jeter runs on a full count to Ellsbury with one away, but it’s another foul, which prompts a toss to first before the next pitch. Which is another foul. Ellsbury is extracting more than a pound of flesh from Happ.

    And then he walks.

    That’s it for Happ.

  • What an amazing at bat for Ellsbury. I know he’s near the league-lead in P/AB, but he must be exasperating.

  • argh.. 6-5 force knocks out the lead runner, but… BRIAN MCCANN.

    I can hope.

  • Dribbler to the right side is fielded by Kawasaki, who makes a shit throw to first. Bautista tries to play the hop but misses it. McCann gets a single and a RBI to tie the game. McCann almost fell running out of the box, and looks slower than your last trip to the DMV, but hey, he tied it up! YAY! But Kawasaki should have gotten an error.
