Good Morning

Sleep well? Good. Corporate holiday mission accomplished? Close enough.

· West coast Yankees fans, eat breakfast before looking at the lead photo in this article by Tyler Kepner.. it’s too late for me. A.J. Burnett has high expectations for the Yankees’ rotation, and offers some assurance why his health issues of the past may remain in said same.

· Jason Varitek sounds very happy to be a Sock, now&4Evah, and makes a few noises that seems like he may still be happy enough with Boras.

· Pete Abraham, who has a head that every shoe-shine covets over their best stiff bristle, documents Rivera’s hair-line. As a member of the bald brotherhood akin in age to Mo, I wear my non-hair proudly, which means absolutely nothing. Bob Klapisch has a similar article in the Herald, with no mention of MPB. Anyway, good read from each regarding The One Thing Every Yankee Fan Must Do: make every effort to see and savor every Rivera appearance. I was saying the same thing three years ago, thinking we were at the end of the line, but he is a balded energizer bunny with a 10 million volt drum hand. Mo.

  • Just to add, it’s been reported that Sabathia added a two-seamer to his repertoire just last August.

  • I trust “new pitch” stories about as well as I trust “better shape than ever” stories.
