Greetings From Seattle

attackgerbil here along with mrs. gerbil and baby gerbil checking in from our hotel room at the Silver Cloud Inn in beautiful SoDo Seattle. The three-and-one-half hour drive was uneventful, and though we had a bit of trepidation about the tab for this new hotel, having one’s residence across the street from Safeco was all-too attractive when having to tote around a 6-month old eating machine. All my reservations evaporated when we checked in an hour ago, walked into our hotel room and found the picture above to be our view. I walked down to the hotel lobby, bought a couple beers, and went back up to prop up our feet, enjoy some cool suds, and take in the view.

Zooming in a bit, you can see that Raul Ibanez and Ichiro Suzuki will be afforded a great view of our room, perhaps putting a bit of performance anxiety into my social agenda.

With the long telephoto, above we can see an unknown Mariner doing base-running drills. This is still from our hotel room, mind you.

Our seats are in the lower box, left field corner. Conveniently, that’s just inside those gates.

Yep, there be Yankees fans, already hanging outside the gates, two hours prior to opening, to go see BP.

More tomorrow. Have a great night.

  • Wish I were there to share one of those beers, Gerb.
I should also note that you are but steps from one of–if not the–best lattes in our fair country, over at zeitgeist on south jackson.
I think our boys could use a bit of cafeine after yesterday!
