Hair Today, Gone Tomorrow

Looks good. Better still, we can only hope a certain NESN style reporter makes her way over to the YES network. Hubba Hubba.

  • Great title! Where do you come up with this stuff, YF!?!

  • Everyone should re-read the below-listed thread and the comments, just for some perspective. If I read it right, it’s mostly Sox fans who think Damon is valuable, while the Yankees fans are, shall we say, less than enthused about the possibility of a Damon acquisition. Interesting how things change.

  • What do you guys think John Sterling will come up with for a Damon home run call? “A DingDong, for Damon!” “Johnny D. Good!” “Damon Does Deepball!” None of those is even close, I’m sure. It’s hard to fathom what might be going on right now in Sterling’s noggin, the mind that brought you the Jeterian Blast and “Another one for the BamTino!.”

  • whats more important, “moral” victories over the yankees or actual victories…to win a championship you need good pitching and good defense…. johnny damon provides neither..

  • I don’t know. You don’t have a center fielder and we do. That’s better than a moral victory.

  • Whoa. Just saw the news conference highlights. Note to Johnny: lose the pointy sideburns.
PS: He says Manny wants to be a Yank, too.

  • Walein, in his own words:
“Personally, I dont want to see Damon in CF for the Yankees. I think he’s a fine player; but it’s diminishing returns from here on out for Jesus Johnny.”
On board, all of a sudden. Shocking.

  • The comments in this thread are worth reading as well, even more than the previous one I linked to.

  • With Damon signing for $52M (like Matsui’s $13M annual salary), Manny’s $60M continues to look more efficient. Not wonderfully marketable, mind you, but much more reasonable. I would think that Furcal, Damon, Matsui, (and even a guy like Washburn, a pitcher) all make Manny’s deal seem much less outrageous, from a sheer dollar/production standpoint.
As long as there are buyers, of course.
