Apparently ARod has the most HRs among active players against the Angels. Not surprising, I guess, since he played for Seattle and Rangers for awhile..
Too bad he does nothing with that pitch..

AJ throwing strikes and Angels trying with their patient attack are falling mostly behind in the count..
Jeter had to rush that throw, and made Teixeira stretch that one out again.. no complaints this time though from the Angels..
Here’s Figgins.

AJ paying tons of attention to Figgins, with 3 or 4 straight throwovers..
And first pitch ball to Abreu..

Teixeira actually not hitting that well this post season, minus that HR in Minny. That said, his defense might be enough..

Abreu flies out close to foul territory near the wall in left field.. two outs, but here’s the dangerous Hunter..

Hunter walks.. the 2-2 pitch was close, but yaaa..
Here’s Vlad with bases loaded two outs.. bracing for impact..

Molina working the count, haha.. I thought Joe might give him the hook..
But now a 3-2 pitch to Molina..

Jeter was safe. Period. Close play? Yes. Bad call? Yes. Pivotal situation? Yes. Typical of this post-season? Yes.

AJ leaves with okay numbers, but his wildness cost him a chance at victory. The Yanks also did not help him out much with their offense..

Crazy high leverage situations and Joba strikes Vlad out to preserve the tie. He can scream as much as he wants on that one, holy smokes.
Hunter had a lucky base hit..

Not sure I agree with pinch-running for Swisher in the 7th. It’s not like they have a good hitter on the bench should his spot come up again.

Also a poor showing by the defense (excepting Teixeira of course), making errors on two routine plays.
Good on Joe to go to Rivera.

Yankee bats have just been put to sleep. A-Rod walkoff leading off the ninth, I’m calling it right here.

Jepsen has nasty stuff. Angels should really have him close instead of Fuentes. I can’t wait for the Yankees to tee off on that guy in the 9th.

doug, Jepsen’s gonna pitch the 9th, too. You can’t use your closer on the road without a lead, you know that.

Mo is so good. I don’t know if I would take the risk and leave him out for another one, but let’s hope we won’t have to answer that question!

Ace is available, and he’s been key for us, but ya, let’s really hope we don’t have to find out.
The AJ gift run looms huge.

AJ had one of the worst great starts I’ve ever seen. There were only two good swings on him the whole game and then he beat himself with his wildness.

Cano with a chance to win it. Of course, the Angels could return the favor by throwing a wild pitch..

Wow, thought that might drop, but good D by the Yanks and Cano and we’ll go to the bottom of the 10th..

Okay, technically Rivera could start the 11th, but I don’t think he will. Yankees better win here, because as much as I love Aceves, I don’t see him getting out of this alive.

You got to be effing me.
Wait, apparently he did not tag second, uh oh. This is going to be a huge call either way..

Well, not uh oh for the Yanks. Now Jeter and Damon with a chance to win it.
He clearly did not touch the base, but the old “neighborhood” play rule applies, maybe.. I’ll take it..

Aceves is in, and now it’s raining. It’s like god just threw up his hands and said “well, I tried”.

If there’s any time for a “fuck ya”, that was it. I woke up some neighbors, but fuck them for not watching the game.

Cano grounds into the no doubles defense, and we go to the 12th. Let’s hold this, and let’s fucking win this.

This kind of sucks that Robertson is the second-to-last man out of the bullpen. Even Marte is ahead of him. They should have left him off the roster so Girardi wouldn’t be tempted like this. Although I guess it’s good to turn Morales around in this park.

Jesus, matchup games in extra innings. I guess it worked out, but Robertson better be efficient with his pitches. This game is over if Gaudin comes in.

Ya, for a switch hitter, he’s pretty awful right handed. The result was good, so I’ll save the dogs for later.. ;)

It’s Robertson, but Guzman/Gardner/Melky are coming up next inning. If Robertson can hold them here, Gaudin will be pitching the top of the 14th. Sigh.

What a fucking fantastic result.
None of the Yankee errors cost anything. The one Angels error cost them the game. Awesome.

Take your fundamentals and shove it. GO YANKS!!
Who gets the pie? I think it wouldn’t have been DP, but ya..

And gutsy pitching by Robertson in both times he’s won in the playoffs so far. Well deserved wins both times.
And on a late note, don’t you think Joe Saunders(kudos for him for a great outing) looks like somehow he’s the older brother of Joba? Just take a look at videos or pics and think about it. ;)
