He’s Baaaaaccccck: Yanks-Rays Gamer I

Your least favorite, most over-paid, least performing member of the Yankee periphery has returned. That’s right, I’m off vacation. Coincidentally, ARod is back in the lineup. And though both took losses in their last starts, C.C. Sabathia and James Shields pitched very well in the month of August. Don’t labor too much today, just comment away.

  • CC is turning in another clunker. Given up tons of hits and just walked the weakest hitter on the Rays on 4 pitches to lead off the 6th. Not sure what his deal is right now.

  • Man do we stink right now.

  • Our starting pitching stinks. Our bullpen stinks. The meat of our order stinks. Our defense stinks. Other than that, we’re tough.

  • Sweet – losing in the 8th. We’re great at coming back from these deficits…

  • How bad has our “ace” CC been these last 2 starts??? I love the guy, but he has not delivered this year, especially in crunch time.

  • And Curtis K’s with the tying run on 3rd to end the game. There was a time when the Yankee lineup inspired fear. Now it is a laughingstock.

  • You should just do what I did IH…stop watching.

This team is finished, and not just for now but for years to come.

Old, slow, HR-dependant franchise with ZERO depth both on the bench and in the minors.

    A HORRIBLE manager.

A JOKE of a GM and now an ownership group that wants to lower payroll??? Bet they won’t lower tickets.

I’m done for this season. Just like the Yankees.

  • Oh, and FYI…we’re actually 0.5 GB in the Wildcard so when we inevitably fall out of 1st, probably in the next two days, we won’t even be in the Wildcard spot.

This team will not make the playoffs. Like I’ve been saying all along.

  • I will get pilloried for saying it here, but I am happy for the O’s. I lived in DC for almost 10 years and went to tons of games at Camden Yards. Unlike many here, I love Showalter and believe he has an impact on his teams. I think it’s crazy to think he hasn’t played a major role in shifting the culture of that franchise. And I think he has his team playing as well as they can possibly play, which still is no lock on them going anywhere this season, but you can’t help but be impressed with them. As long as the Yanks aren’t going to roll, which I just can’t see happening even if they do somehow hold onto the division, I will actually root for the O’s (long before Tampa Bay, LAA, Texas, etc…

  • I have nothing against the O’s.

The 90’s were all about Buck, Torre just swooped in and won with Buck’s teams.

Whatever, we had a nice run. It’s 80’s time again.

Oh, and I just saw on Twitter that Cano is out now too? Didn’t watch the game so I had no idea, plus I just really don’t fucking care anymore.

Cashman’s awesome farm system should provide instant relief to any injury situation.
