Hey, Let’s Go Bowling! Mariners-Yanks Gamer IX

Okay, maybe a bit premature, but how does one stay optimistic about the playoffs when the Yankees can only muster one run against their chief competitor for the WC after losing two games out of three to the worst team in the majors, compounded by the fact that Rocket’s elbow may have been grounded by NASA?

Update: “Clemens thought the elbow problem stemmed from a blister on his foot that caused him to alter his mechanics.” Sing along with me.. The foot bone’s connected to the…funny bone.

  • Horacio Ramirez vs. Chien-Ming Wang.
Sorry about the lazy post.. still working. Feverishly trying to adapt code on a couple of servers to be php 5 compatible prior to an ISP switchover. GAH.

  • Link to the article on Roger’s elbow and the coming cortisone shot.

  • Ramirez, a worse-than-mediocre lefty is 2-0 lifetime against NY with a .63 ERA. DOUBLE GAH!!

  • To be fair, I was lazy in looking them up, that’s why I asked. =)
Okay, time to hit the gym so I can watch (parts of) the game. Goooo Yankees!

  • Is there going to be a Sox game thread? Or are we supposed to troll?

    1. Yes.
    2. Is that rhetorical?

  • Well, I like to think trolling is an option, not a requirement… :)

  • :) trolling, when done well, is always appreciated, at least by me.

  • What happened to the “best offense in baseball”? Wang is keeping us in the game, but this one run per game isn’t going to help..

  • Well this thing turned into a blowout quickly. Can’t say it’s great to have Minky back on the roster, tho.
Was surprised Wang went back out there. After a groundout and a couple of conferences, he takes the bench for the Viz.

  • Yet another “lucky start” from Wang. He’s on quite a lucky streak of 2.5 years now. He shoulda bought a Mega Millions ticket last week.

  • Ya, seriously. Some people just have all the luck!
    Better luck than skill!

  • “…how does one stay optimistic about the playoffs when the Yankees can only muster one run…”
…when they score double-digits the very next game…that’s how…no, seriously ag, i’m with you…every time i get a little excited about the yankee chances, they let me down…i saw it coming…last week i said the yanks would probably sweep the sox, then lose 3 to the mariners…that’s the kind of year it’s been…well, my aim was off [2 of the loses being to tb], but for all practical purposes i got it right…i could just scream…
