High Speed Clips From the NLCS

I may not have a horse in this race, but these are fascinating slow-mo pictures of horses, er, batters. I guess that’s one good thing Fox has brought to the game.

  • The ultra-slo-mo I want to see posted somewhere is Pence’s double from last night. I’ve watched well over a thousand baseball games and I don’t recall ever seeing anything like that, let alone in a bases loaded post-season Game 7 situation. It’s also interesting when you see the SS breaking toward third just how quickly those fielders (or some of them anyway) read where the ball will go. In this bizarre case, that prescience and quick reflex served him poorly as Pence’s bat then struck the ball twice more as he was still swinging it to send the ball back the other way. Not sure it would have made much difference as the Giants were already up 2-0 and in the end, Cain pitched beautifully and the Giants just piled on, but that was one of the more interesting swings I’ve ever watched, and re-watched.

  • It’s in that link above now, IH. And it’s awesome.

Great series, that SF-STL one. Turned out the way I wanted.
