Penny out after walking the lead-off man in the 4th. Supposedly 51 of his 85 pitches have been strikes but it seemed as if he found the strike zone only by accident.
A nation turns it’s lonely eyes to Clay Buchholz (or John Smoltz)?

Obviously MDC is not a long man, but they wanted a guy to keep them in the game. Allowing the inherited runner to score on the Markakis double was not a good start, though.
Not sure who’ll be the long man in general now that Masterson has joined the rotation.

Wow. What a game this has been! I had it on in the background after Penny laid his deuce on the mound. Can’t believe they actually managed to tie it with Lowell-Varitek-Green up and two outs.

Javier Lopez is back to TEH SUCK this season. 84 pitches, just 51 strikes so far this year, including tonight’s wonderful 11-4 ratio. Ramon Ramirez comes on and gets the third out on one pitch.
Pedroia gets on. Let’s see if Papi picks a good time to get back on the ball…

wow. maybe this game will wake the bats up. not sure what it’s gonna take to get papi going. his “no manny” complaints on falling on deaf ears.
radio guy’s say they are gonna take youk out for precautionary reasons. probably carter coming in with kotsay DL’d.

youk still in. that’s a good sign.
green has impressed with the glove and flashes with the bat.

game.
the sox stole one tonite.
memo to mr. penny, you’re gonna need to compete to remain in the rotation after may.
