  • Nova in trouble in the third, giving up a leadoff double and then a walk. Michael Young to the plate.

  • Goes 3-0 on Young before finally throwing a strike – Young taking all the way. Foul tip. Now walked them loaded for Josh Hamilton. Hoo-boy.

  • HUGE K, Hamilton down on three pitches. Fastball away, fastball on the corner, breaking ball low that he chases.

  • Starts Soto off with a fastball for a called strike on the inside corner, then a foul tip to make it 0-2.

    attackgerbil August 16, 2012, 3:25 pm
  • 1 K. IBB loads them up again…

    IronHorse - YF August 16, 2012, 3:25 pm

  • Walks Moreland to get the righty-righty matchup.

    attackgerbil August 16, 2012, 3:27 pm
  • Bases juiced, two down.

    attackgerbil August 16, 2012, 3:27 pm
  • That first off-speed pitch was a borderline strike. on the high outside corner. Then a foul tip, now Joba brings the head on the inside corner for a strike. 1-2…

    attackgerbil August 16, 2012, 3:28 pm
  • Gentry fouls a fastball out of play towards right field.

    attackgerbil August 16, 2012, 3:29 pm
  • Joba misses a slider away.

    attackgerbil August 16, 2012, 3:29 pm
  • So positively 2012. Oh well. Another hole out of which to dig.

    IronHorse - YF August 16, 2012, 3:29 pm
  • The 2-2: line drive right back up the middle. Two runs score. ick.

    attackgerbil August 16, 2012, 3:30 pm
  • Joba was looking so good.

    attackgerbil August 16, 2012, 3:31 pm
  • “Just too middle”.

    attackgerbil August 16, 2012, 3:31 pm
  • Ground out 6-3 ends the Texas seventh, with the Yankees down 7 to 5. Gentry with a hard slide.

    attackgerbil August 16, 2012, 3:33 pm
  • Ibanez works a long count and avoids grounding into the double play after falling behind 0-2; Ichiro out at 2nd on the fc.

    attackgerbil August 16, 2012, 3:43 pm
  • Not sure why Jeter gets a single there, but so be it.

    attackgerbil August 16, 2012, 3:46 pm
  • Nick Swisher up with one away, runners on 1st and 2nd.

    attackgerbil August 16, 2012, 3:46 pm
  • Swisher has taken four pitches. Three of them were probably strikes but the count is 3-1. And he walks him… sort of.

    attackgerbil August 16, 2012, 3:48 pm
  • Teixeira grounds to short; throw to second gets Swisher but he comes in hard to break up the DP and a run scores.

    attackgerbil August 16, 2012, 3:50 pm
  • Absolute swarm of dragonflies here geetting closer and closeer to the infield…

    IronHorse - YF August 16, 2012, 3:51 pm
  • Jones with a chance to make up for his jelly bones.

    attackgerbil August 16, 2012, 3:51 pm
  • Dragonflies?

    attackgerbil August 16, 2012, 3:52 pm
  • Yeah ag. They’re huge – and there have to be over 200 of them easy on thee third base side. They periodically move down and toward the infield.

    IronHorse - YF August 16, 2012, 4:03 pm
  • Quite confused as to why Joba was leeft in so long.

    IronHorse - YF August 16, 2012, 4:04 pm
  • Rangers fans getting ramabunctuous again. Save me Yankees. Save me.

    IronHorse - YF August 16, 2012, 4:13 pm
  • What is it with Joba and the insects?

    attackgerbil August 16, 2012, 4:16 pm
  • Most predictable post-game question: If Cano was weell enough to PH why wasn’t he well enough to play in a game in which yu were aalaso sitting granderso and Chavez aand you were without A-Rod??

Second most predictable: did you just forget Jobaa was still out there???

    IronHorse - YF August 16, 2012, 4:19 pm
  • Good call ag :). Sorry for typos…blackberry issuees…

    IronHorse - YF August 16, 2012, 4:20 pm
  • Inexcusable lazy baserunning by Cano. That should have been a stand-up RBI.

    IronHorse - YF August 16, 2012, 4:24 pm
  • Everyone looks like they want a day off.

    attackgerbil August 16, 2012, 4:40 pm
  • But they won’t get one. Yankees lose. Boston tomorrow.

    attackgerbil August 16, 2012, 4:43 pm
  • GREAT series against the Rags!!!! 3 out of 4 is awesome. AND I got to watch every game in Knoxville…somehow. I think it’s karma because I haven’t lost my shit in awhile and have stayed positive.

    Time to CRUSH THE SOX!!!!

    Hope you had fun IH!!

    krueg August 16, 2012, 8:38 pm
  • Sox are already crushed, brah. You can pile dirt on the coffin if you feel like it, though.

    Devine August 16, 2012, 9:02 pm
  • We must crush everyone.

    Equal opportunity crushing.

    krueg August 16, 2012, 10:39 pm
  • The Sox continue to have exccellent ttalent and are therefore dangerous in any given series, even if not in the ultimate playoff race. But they are way underperforming and are a disfunctional mess. While Bobby V. was predictable as a buffoon, his haandling of Youkilis was surprising, at least to me, and his apparent cluelessness as to how to manage relations with his players is striking. But even with all that, that clubhouse has so little credibility after last year that it shouldn’t be surprising that ownership doesn’t really waant to heear thei whining from some of them. For a Yankee fan so used to the circus being in the Bronx, it is odd – and admittedly gratifying – to see it play out in Boston. Just don’t let something stupid happen this weekend like a beanball war, bench-clearing brawl, etc. These series are never dull no matter the standings and so my hope, beyond a series-win for the Yanks, is that they get past this weekend without any incidents that might effect them going forward.

    IronHorse - YF August 17, 2012, 6:39 am
  • Looks like Tex’s wrist is still hurting…out tonight, maybe tomorrow too.
