In Search Of…

…the vaunted Yankee offense. Is it out there? Has Arthur Dent seen it hitchhiking around the galaxy? It sure as hell ain’t in the Bronx. Three games, two runs, no wins. Jeets and A-Rod need some help fellas, and Andy Phillips, much as we like him, isn’t going to be able to do it himself.

PS: Joe, can we put an end to the Woemack-in-the-2-slot experiment?

  • To add a point to this post, it’s worth noting that the Yankees, given their current state of affairs, really can’t afford to squander Unit’s outings. He gets, hopefully, 34 shots a year. If the Yankees are going to get anywhere, they need to win the overwhelming majority of those games. They’re not doing that. (Though it’s not his fault.) Big problem.

  • Actually, Jeets is the guy who needs help. Take away A-Rod’s great game and he doesn’t appear to be helping out too much, in the grand scheme of things.

  • The fact that I’m depressed about the Sox’ lackluster start doesn’t surprise me, since, after all, I’m a Sox fan. The fact that, in some weird way, I’m bummed about the Yanks’ pathetic play, does. What the hell kind of rivalry is this?! Let’s get going Bombers and Sox! “JaysFan vs. O’sFan” just doesn’t do it for us!
