Intercepted Memo

Re: Skid

One win. Three losses. Three losses in a row. Do you think I’m getting any younger? Did you think I’d see that first game, and then, you know, tune out for the rest of the trip? Did you think the Old Man couldn’t stay up for the late starts? Please. Four games and you’re already pressing my patience. Woody Allen performs better in California. The Sox are 3-1. The Mets are 3-1. For Christ’s sake. One more loss out there and you can forget the team charter; you’ll be flying back from Cali in a JetBlue cargo hold. Those still on the team, that is. I’ll fire your ass faster than The Donald.

Okay. There’s your pep talk. Now play like champions. Or else.

  • With the Yankees’ payroll, each game costs over $1,200,000 to play in salaries alone.
So it’s cost Georgie roughly $5,000,000 so far to get one win.
    Poor thing.

  • Well said YF. A good dose of constructive criticism is just what Torre and the Yanks need.

  • Thanks for the chuckle.
I’m not sure who has less patience – the Boss or the fans.
