Is It Spring Already? Yanks-Rangers ALCS Gamer I

It’s been so long, I forgot we were still playing ball.  C.C. Sabathia faces C.J. Wilson in Arlington as we finally get this pennant action started.  Comment away.

These announcers better shut the hell up about CC not having control. He threw strike 1, 2, and 3 to Young and somehow was at 3 and 0 after those pitches. If the ump is going to take the strike zone away then this happens. God, I’m pissed right now. So should CC be.

Bases loaded, no outs, A-Rod up. He has had a HORRIBLE night at the plate and in the field. He’s the go ahead run now as hard as that is to believe. I don’t think it is an exageration to say not only this game, but this series may ride on what happens in the next 3 at-bats.

If the Yanks pull this game off, Dustin Moseley will deserve a hell of a lot of credit, but will likely be forgotten in the euphoria over the offense’s performance in this one inning.
But still lots of baseball to play and they’re only up by one…

Got to tip your cap to these fans, who are actually rowdy as hell cheeing for the K or DP. Lots of parks would be deathly silent after what’s happened so far here. An Grandy lays off a great tough pitch. 3-2…

Well it hurts to leave that runner on third when there was only one out and the Rangers’ scary offense still has two innings to make that up, but you can’t be down on anything after that inning. Kerry Wood takes the mound. Hope this is the Dr. Jekyll Wood and not the Mr. Hyde one.

And he picks Kinsler off!!!!! Nice job with the aggressive base running Ron Washington! I love it! That was massive. Now if Wood could actually throw a strike, we might be in business.

That was a superb at bat by Michael Young – a player I really like, but Mo bests him and then gets Josh not-the-MVP Hamilton to end a stunning game. That was one of the Yankees’ best come backs of the year and it came in the biggest game of the year (so far). Unreal.

I take it you were watching the game in a bar, krueg?
It was frustrating as hell at the start! I’m still mad about that first inning strike zone. It evened out later in the game but it was brutal in the beginning. CC was forced to throw pitches right down the damn middle of the plate.

i missed the 1st inning…turned it on when we were down 3-0…yeah, here we go again with the strike zone…what struck me was the fact that mo had michael young struck out on that check swing…if you want to give him the benefit of doubt on the check, ok, but the pitch was a freakin’ strike…not one whine about it from the tbs guys or espn…imagine the outrage if it was the other way around…oh well, young stuck out anyway, and we won…sweeeeet

I was catching hell…until the 8th. :)
The haters were SO pissed. It was fucking awesome. But the icing on the cake??? When I played Sinatra on the Jukebox after the game! Take that rednecks!!! Cardinals, Cubs and Sox fans were miserable.

“…played Sinatra on the Jukebox …”
hahaha…i did that after last year’s series win…funny shit…i wonder if my “rays fan” friends will show up today…prob depends on what happens with today’s game…they’ll show up for the gator game to jack me if the yanks lose…oh well

It sucks that you can’t just go out and enjoy the game but haters are everywhere…and they are bitter and miserable people that deserve a beating, but I’m getting too old for that so I find psychological warfare works even better.

“…psychological warfare works even better…”
oh yeah…and it’s actually better not to engage…other than an occasional smug smile…makes ’em nuts when you just nod your head in mock agreement about yankees spending, the short right field in nys, jeter’s washed up, and other sundry insults…but i make sure they know i’m laughing at them, not with them…works every time…if you let them think they got under your skin, they win…
