Oh, oh.
Lester was awesome through 4, allowing no hits.
Apparently he’s coming out.
Fucking great.
Yup. Nothing obvious. Lester 0 hits, 5K 1BB in 4 innings. Albers on to start the 5th.
Shit.
No word yet on Lester. Thankfully, no one is speculating.
Left lat strain for Lester.
That’s all on it for now.
Franklin Morales is now on for Albers.
Well, there goes 2011, unless the injury is incredibly minor. Now we are just left to hope that Lester isn’t injured to the point where more than just 2011 is compromised.
Beckett and four others is the rotation. Unbelievable and horribly frustrating. Thank God the Bruins took the edge off.
Sean McAdam says Lester will be out for 2 weeks at least.
Crazy play to end the game. Looked like Paps had blown it, but McDonald throws ’em out at the plate. Looks like it was a blown call by the ump, but we’ll take it. Great block by Tek.
Replay shows, I think, that Encarnacion was safe at the plate on the final play of the game.
Tito offers little on Lester during post-game news conference.
Our rotation for the next 2-3 weeks:
Beckett, Miller, Wakefield, Lackey, Aceves/Weiland until Buchholz returns.
Tonight might very well prove to be the end of the season for the Sox.
I already miss Tim Thomas.
Tito did say that the lat strain didn’t happen on any one pitch.
Lester says he doesn’t think it will be a long-tmer issue. Says he thinks he avoided more serious injury by coming out when he did. He’s hopeful that with all-star break he’ll miss just one start.
We’ll see.
Hard to see how Varitek gets credit last night when he didn’t tag him!

He blocks the plate then holds the ball until Encarnacion touches the plate!
