Jeter’s chances are definitely reduced

Jeter’s chances are definitely reduced due to the strikeout pitchers. But even adjusted for that, and I think that Rob Neyer on wrote a really good column to this effect, Jeter sits at the bottom of the charts. It is simply a misguided notion, driven by what I can only imagine is hometown PR or prejudice, that Jeter is a good fielder. He is not. As for being a great leader, an excellent hitter, and a really good baserunner, and I guess a relatively clutch player, there’s no argument. He’s a potential hall-of-famer, just not a good fielder. What’s so big about admitting that?
