Well, for March, anyway.

I’m still giving the Player of the Month to Manny… ;P
PLEASE! Please let Lugo hit over .280 this year.
We may need all our players to make up for a dark, dark hole in the #7 spot.
Serious questions on Varitek: Do the Sox give him an extension or let him walk? Is the word that they’ll wait until after the season to decide?
I think the Yanks did the right thing with Jorge and Mo, but they ended up paying for it. If Varitek has a halfway decent season, I can’t imagine how they’ll let him go with nothing in the system behind him. Seems like they’ll be where the Yanks were.
Exactly right, A YF
I would like to think that we’ll keep him. as you said, there are very few other options available (unless Kottaras absolutely tears it up in AAA somehow, or a paperwork error causes Salty to be traded for Kyle Snyder). However, in the small sample size of these first two games and Spring Training, Tek has looked HORRENDOUS at the plate, which, if it keeps up, makes me question if he’s worth the money.
I don’t know about you guys, but I just don’t think anyone else but Varitek can carry that glorious, king-sized “C” on the chest as well as he. ;o)
Hey, March ain’t over yet. A-Rod could still go 6-6 with 6 homeruns.
