Keep It Rollin’: Yanks-Tribe Gamer V

What is there to add to YF’s post from last night with the Frankie Valli lead?  What a fun game to watch.  I can’t say I felt bad for the Tribe, but they looked flummoxed more often than not with the Yankee young guns.  Now the ball is handed over to the old guard as Mike Mussina looks to keep Cleveland at bay, facing off against Paul Byrd.  Moose will be throwing to Molina, as Posada says he hopes to return tomorrow, according to Pete.  The cynic in me wonders if Jorge may very well have been ready to go today, but with Moose on the mound…

  • ARod hits a bomb over the 400′ mark in center to make it 7-1 Yanks in the second.

  • Melky and Bobby collide slightly on a pop fly; Melky was calling for it but Bobby made the grab. Now Trot lines a single to center.

  • Wow. Just when you start to think he’s slowing down, he starts hitting homeruns like there’s no tomorrow.
    This is what MVP seasons are made of. My lord.

  • Hey Soxers:
    Look in that rearview mirror and keep telling yourself:
    I’m not worried about the #@!$% Yankees catching, and passing us;
    I’m not worried about the #@!$% Yankees beating up out pitchers;
    I’m not worried that we are playing mediocre ball and the #@!$% Yankees are the best team in baseball since the All-Star break;
    I’m not worried that we have a 5 game lead and still have to play 6 games against the #@!$%Yankees.

  • What’s funny about this season:
    a) Godzilla is rampaging over the East including the shell known as Manny.
    b) Melky isn’t just better than Coco, but Nancy too while she searches for a clue.
    c) A-Rod = clutch while Papi = punchless
    d) Lugo = Bizarro Jeter
    e) Cano really is the best 2B in AL – offensively and defensively.
    f) Varitek = Bizarro Jorge
    The only redeeming hitters (for their positions) in the Sox lineup are Lowell and Youkilis, and both are coming back to Earth.
    Meanwhile, the Sox rotation is very beatable. Beckett doesn’t scare me. Matsuzaka doesn’t scare me. And Schilling and Wake are extremely beatable.
    I’m looking forward to the ALCS – if Boston makes it that far.

  • On the flip side, Matsuzaka does scare me, even though Beckett doesn’t. He’s been on – giving up a run or two, but the Sox just can’t get any runs for him.
