Incomplete game (1.2 innings) one hitter for Daniel Bard. I thought letting him start was worth a try. It does not look good right now. But with Daisuke and Cook still out, who else is there?
I agree; I thought Bard was a good idea and maybe he needs more time to develop (and he’s been passable as a #5 starter), but for this year, probably time to head back to the bullpen when a reasonable option presents itself…there’s always Aceves…but I think that door is pretty firmly shut this year.
Great work by the bullpen again, unfortunately in a losing effort since the bats are mostly asleep.
