Looking Ahead

There are no big games in April, but it sure would be nice for the Yanks to take tomorrow afternoon’s start against the Royals, especially with their ace on the hill. Things couldn’t get much easier, and they’re not going to: Friday they’re in Minneapolis, and they’ll be facing Johan Santana. And once they’re done in the Twin Cities, they’ll be off to Toronto for their 4th away series out of 5. Meanwhile, the Sox have one more at home against those Jays before Seattle comes in to beantown. Sadly for everyone (Yankee fans who’d like to see a Sox loss, Sox fans who’d just like to see the King in action), they’re scheduled to miss Felix Hernandez. Too bad indeed.

  • I was just talking to my SF yesterday and he mentioned the cream-puff Royals as the home-opening series. To which I reminded him that TEX and BAL are not equal to OAK/ANA/OC/LA. I’ll take a rough early West Coast trip over multiple bi-coastal trips after the break (which the Sox have).
Now’s the best time to try and get Santana too. Time to get back over .500

  • When i noted, when the schedule was first released, that the Yanks have it tough at the beginning of the year and easy toward the end, SF laced into me. We’ll see how things shake out.
