Mariners-Yankees Gamer

Cliff Lee facing Phil Hughes at The Stadium.  Yeah, I'm excited for this one.  Plus, I get to watch since it's an FSNW game.  Sweet.

  • Hughes rules suck…he hasn’t pitched in over a week. Makes me a little nervous.
I also think they should drill Ichiro because of his celebration last year on the walk-off! ;)

  • Swish hits a bomb to make it 1-0.
Then double, single and like FIVE errors by Curtis leads to a run for the Mariners. 1-1.
Glad to see that we still look like shit, even after Sunday’s game.

  • Cervelli guns down (insert Seattle scrub here) for the first out…wasn’t even close.

  • 1-2.
This game is boring. Lee is going to make us his bitch again.
    Game.

  • Double plays are saving our ass so far…

  • HR…1-3. We suck.

  • 7 hits, 3 runs and he isn’t even through 4 innings yet…65 pitches. That’s what happens when you don’t pitch for a couple weeks. Hughes Rules are a joke.

  • I guess we’ve left our ability to hit the fucking ball on the west coast…Cliff Lee, CG, W. EASILY I might add.

  • Leadoff double…fuck this, I’m not wasting another night watching this bullshot.

  • “…Hughes rules suck…”
agree krueg…while i’m not a big fan of precise pitch counts either, i’d have to think that it would be a more effective way to monitor his workload, since it would allow him to maintain whatever rythym he’s had while imposing the “necessary?” limits to the stress on his arm…it just seems like the yankees are being way too anal with young pitchers…

  • Cliff Lee is quickly vaulting up the list of players I like to hate. The nonchalant smugness on the mound is almost as infuriating as his ability to back it up by shutting the Yanks down again and again in their own stadium. The last game I caught at the Stadium last year was game 1 of the WS and he pulled his beatdown-while-yawning act like I’ve never seen before. He did it again last night. Would really really like to see him have to leave just one game against the Yankees in the 4th inning with his team down by 6 runs. Blech.
Hope he ends up in the NL somewhere.

  • We always play like shit coming off a long road trip. We better win tonight. The Mariners are a joke. I’ll chalk last night up to Lee but tonight there are no excuses…

  • you get the M’s two best pitchers – Felix going today against Javier. Can’t believe the M’s scored that many runs against the Yanks.

  • Are you still going to hate Lee when he is a Yankee next season IH???

  • “Can’t believe the M’s scored that many runs against the Yanks”
Why??? Hughes hasn’t pitched in like a month???

    krueg June 30, 2010, 10:51 am
  • Cause the M’s offense is putrid – and Hughes, even though he hasn’t pitched in awhile, is good.

  • Usually…but not after accumulating a month’s worth of dust because of these stupid innings restrictions.
