Murray, Murray, Murray

The Yanks made up half a game last night thanks to a Sox loss—new strategy: don’t play!—but that didn’t keep the NYT’s designated hitter shrew from piling on the poor Bombers. Mr. Chass says our Empire is no longer that Evil (The Friendly Empire!), and that its bats do not produce in a timely manner (though we didn’t notice the hitting blowing two of three to the D-Rays). The good news: MC still doesn’t believe in those Sox—they have not “epitomized greatness.” Corporate is gonna be pissed. But this much we can all agree upon: twelve losses to the D-Rays and Royals is no way to go about making the playoffs.

  • You are violating the moratorium on posting about Murray Chass. I no longer let him bother me, he’s that far gone. He has no credibility, so why bother wasting precious brain matter trying to comprehend his blather? For f**k’s sake this is the man who said this year that the championship the Sox won wouldn’t be complete until they aced out the Yankees for a division in the regular season. So why should his opinion on anything be worthy of your posting efforts? What’s next, YF’s take on the intellectualism of Bill O’Reilly?

  • Chass = O’Reilly? Pushing it.

    YF August 19, 2005, 10:49 am
  • I hate them both, equally. Well, maybe O’Reilly a litte more.

  • Murray Chass is the last three letters of his name. I used to read him regularly just to be entertained by how biased and irrational he could be. Now, I just turn the page…

  • Not comparing Chass to O’Reilly, but rather the exercise of analyzing Chass to the exercise of analyzing O’Reilly. Both are useless endeavors which will no doubt lead to further atrophy of one’s brain. I gave it up a few months ago. I suggest the same for you, YF. You’ve been warned.

  • Poor SF. The world is comprised of fools. The older he becomes, the more full of fools is the world. Soon enough, we fear, there will be no one left on his list of acceptable subjects for discussion. How long before he’s in a cave, living the hermit life with a beard that makes Damon look like, well, a Yankee. Morgan, Shaughnessy, Chass, Olney, Gammons. We assume they are OUT. Can we see SF’s list of approved scribes?
As for us, we cannot see fit to take such a drastic position. It is, we feel, our duty to address the foibles of the MSM, just as it is our obligation to vote. And there you have it. SF’s refusal to even address Murray Chass is downright un-American. At a time of war. Really, it’s criminal. Ignore Chass, and the terrorists have won. Have you no shame?

  • Approved scribes: Me. You.

  • Watching the Yankees keep throwing Alan Embree out there is like watching your arch-enemy in college unknowingly start dating a girl with VD
Bill Simmons of ESPN is also kosher.
