Now THIS is Perfection

YF tuned us in to the aesthetic stylings of Mariano Rivera in a great post last week.  And while the picture above may lead everyone to think this is a SF-centric retort about the beauty of a certain Boston slugger’s efforts, it’s not. At least not entirely.  It’s about the picture you will find after the jump.

This is a picture of my daughter Alice on our vacation last week.  What she was doing I have no clue.  Perhaps in the middle of falling on her ass, or imitating her favorite Red Sox, I have absolutely no idea – she’s a free spirit, that girl.  Needless to say I got very lucky with this picture, and if there comes a day that "Little A" (as I ironically call her — she’s not so little despite only being 16 months old) cracks the LPGA Tour, or, in a feat of gender-equality-bending impossibility, the Majors, we’ll have this memento of her early formal prowess.   Though a righty, she’s got the fluidity of Will Clark and Jim Edmonds in her, no?

  • That picture of your daughter is just Alice being Alice. ;)

  • Daddy, sorry to break it you but I’m a Yankee fan.

  • Love it. I was about to object to three separate Manny-love threads (I can barely handle one), but Alice’s follow-through is indeed the stuff of legend and most worthy. I sure hope you got on her to stop standing there admiring it and get busy running.

This comment forces me to recall this picture of my young son.

  • I think I have it the worst. My 7 year old collects NY shirts and wears them regularly – even though he knows I won’t let him leave the house unless he does extra homework. He’s finished an entire math workbook for the next grade up and still pulls the blasted shirts out at least once a week.

  • Lar, that gave my stomach an uncomfortable lurch. Imagine how miserable that child will be in the Yanks claw their way atop the AL East. Thank goodness for the 4 year old, who yells for the Sox just to make me smile.

  • Eliza’s headed for the gridiron. Already got her Heisman pose down:

  • Isn’t that the “talk to the hand” pose?
