YFSF Introduces: The Numbah Crunchah

As we hit September and the stretch run, YF and I would like to welcome the first of what we hope to be a stable of erudite and articulate guest posters here at YFSF.  First up is Andy Andres, Ph.D, an Assistant Professor of Natural Sciences at Boston University, denizen of Cambridge, and diehard Sox fan.  Andy is a "lecturer in sabermetrics" (we love the title) for this class at Tufts University, and has worked as a Data Analyst at Ron Shandler’s Baseball HQ.  Look for Andy’s first posts soon; they’ll be the ones that actually have measurable brain power behind them.

  • Yikes. Measureable brain power? Tell that to my kids, they would like that one…
Oh, and thanks for the nice intro…

  • Great news – welcome to Andy. Would it be possible to contact Andy by email about his course. I am a baseball fan and member of RSN in the UK and as a Physics postgrad am very interested in stats and the like. I’d love to get in touch with Andy
    cheers
