ho shaver. are you kidding me? good thing he’s 6’5 and 205 lb’s. kids can be cruel.
Hmm, Lowrie up in the 2 spot.
Pedroia gets the night off, Lowrie takes his spot in the batting order. Not that Dustin doesn’t deserve a day off, but man I hate these types of nights.
odd lineup;
drew
lowrie (ss)
ortiz
youk
lowell
bay
ellsbury
cash
cora (2nd)
first two reach. ducks on the pond for papi.
royals outfielders blow. from a fundamentals standpoint.
Can’t Pedroia take days off in November?
SF Rod- watching on gameday, what happened to make you say that?
Sterling and Waldman trying to make it sound like Ponson is better than he is. Never mind that 4.81 ERA and the .308 opponents’ batting average since he joined the Yankees you two.
Oops – wrong gamer, sorry gang.
some f-bombs youk were audible on NESN. he sounded pissed.
rbf- gload threw behind drew at 2nd. i guess he was just conceding third on the tagup.
teahen and gload have been awful this series. maier doesn’t look much like a CF-er either.
ellsbury still has a pulse.
Is that two GIDPs in two innings? Whee!!!
Wake dealing. 0-0 after three.
Wake, who seems to have awful run support, gets the “fuchyeu!” from Tito with this lineup.
RBI single for the captain. Nice.
Oops again – sorry. (By the way SFs, we’ve now lost Pudge too who hurt his knee being a manimal in a collision at the plate so we’re back to Molina and….Molina).
Honestly, Tito must hate Wake. He’ll have Crisp in in a minute I’m sure.
Sox’ offense is brutal tonight. Just like the lineup that presaged the suck.
Bay should be hitting earlier in the lineup.
Good play by Lowrie, Wake keeping his team in the game against THE F*CKING KANSAS CITY ROYALS.
Ellsbury makes good contact, to no avail, scooped by the first baseman in a nice play.
Just got in. Why is Youk out?
got hit on the hand.
SF, question. WEEI’s annual Jimmy Fund radiothon is next weekend, Aug. 14-15. Is there any way that we could make a group donation in the name of YFSF, and if so, who would collect and how would we pay?
Just a thought.
EEI is looking to collect $4 million this year.
Useless offense. Useless.
Good question, IBM. Lemme check with YF and see if we can’t figure something out.
JED – FREAKIN – LOWRIE!!!
Yes! Lowrie drives one to the deepest part of centerfield and scores two.
I have to remember to offer thanks in November for a certain injury to a certain shortstop.
Big Stein has been a contributor, as well as Tim Russert, also a NYY fan.
POPPI!!!!!!!
Alright, nice inning so far.
Just got home, and we gets 2 hits! I’m good luck tonight!
Yeah, Drew!
I don’t want to kick a gift horse, but that’s 6 LOBs already.
I read on SoSH that 75% is the MLB stranded baserunner rate…so it seems like 6 LOB and 5 scored is actually pretty good, IBM. But I could be misinformed on said “stranded baserunner rate”.
Okay, I rock.
You trying to stick it to me, Devine?
ELLSBURY!!! To the deepest part of the park!
Anyone rummaging through your stuff, Ath?
Clearly, Bill.
Jacoby!!
YES!!!!
Does thst mean Ellsbury is ready to move back to the leadoff slot?
Hahaha, Cash hits. Eat it, Mahay.
Well, Devine, you succeeded.
Thanks for making me look bad. I’ve been bitching about the Red Sox LOBs all season and you wait until now to share that with me. Thanks. Thanks a lot.
Actually yes Bill, she went in my closet today and rummaged through one of my boxes of computer cables. Im going to confront both of them tonight.
3 hit night so far for Ellsbury; if this continues then he’s getting hot at the right time.
Meant to say…for being the baseball player equivalent of a Mack truck, Casey has moved 1st to 3rd on singles well the last couple nights.
Joe C tells us that that homer was Ellsbury’s first career homer off a lefty.
Jacoby?! What the hell?
Dude, Ath, that chick is a b*tch, and your roommate (?) needs to re-consider fast. Good luck with the confronting stuff.
I want pictures, ath. Have your girlfriend get out the movie camera and film it for us.
HAHA if only I had a camera that wasn’t a webcam!
Maybe I can invite them into my room and THEN confront them, and get it on video that way.
NYY 5, Tex 3. The Aruban Assassin in line for another win. Jesus. What was it who called Dice-K the luckiest pitcher in baseball?
I love this ballpark. When I was a kid I went to a Yankees-Royals game there. Yanks were up a run with two outs in the ninth with a man on first and Amos Otis up. AO jacks to to right-center and it lands in Mickey Rivers’ glove just before Reggie slams into him. The ball fell out of his glove and rolled along the outfield wall toward center as AO circle the bases for a game-winning inside-the-park walk-off homer.
The fans in KC were great when this team was good. It was always fun to go to a game there.
Ath, what’s all this about?
Also, c’mon MDC. Let’s not add any unnecessary drama to this game, hm?
It’s a great story, Micah. You’ll love it.
Effing perfect last pitch for strike 3 from Delcarmen (a little generous from the ump, maybe).
RS have 8 runs and 7 LOBs, Devine. I’ll let it go, now.
Those home runs are GREAT for non-LOB, eh, Bill?
Wake pulled after 80 pitches. Is he okay? Or are they just giving the bullpen a little workout?
1st and 3rd, 2 out. C’mon Delcarmen…just get this guy, would ya?
Nice play, Cora.
Micah, the last few weeks I’ve noticed stuff moved around in my room, so I set up my webcam with motion detection software to record when anyone goes in my room (“Creative Web Center”, it’s free!) the other day. Sure enough, when I came home that night it showed my roommate’s girlfriend (who is a TOTAL bitch) going in my room, snooping around my stuff and using my computer. I vented to the YFSF populace last night, and have been waiting to cool down before I confront her.
Today the same thing happened: she went into my closet and started rummaging through a box of computer cables that I have, before taking an ethernet cable. Needless to say I am not cooled-down, but I’m going to confront her and my roommate tonight.
Yes, devine, and to get me to quit bitching.
Does she still have the ethernet cable?
Yep. I have like 15 of them (I’m a lab technician and a computer geek) but still, it’s the principle of the thing.
If she had told me that night “Hey, I used your computer to check my email I hope you don’t mind” everything would have been okay. But I can’t stand someone I’m not friends with going into my room without telling me, and trying to cover up her tracks afterwards (she deleted my internet history).
Ath: wow, what a bitch. Chew them out something good, and make sure she gives you the damn cable back (and anything else she might have taken). Sorry I missed the original story, I’ve been ludicrously busy these last few weeks (and am still answering work email, having already worked 12 hours today).
At least the Sox look to be well on their way to winning. That’ll give me some solace.
Good thing we don’t need more offense, that was an ugly inning.
Wow, Peralta strikes out the side on 12 pitches. Pretty dominating for a guy with a 5.22 ERA.
But on the plus side…no LOBs!
SWEET, Masterson in.
I like Justin Masterson.
Paps up in the pen. Needs an inning of work.
Re: LOBs. I only get upset when the Sox leave on well more than they score. If it’s roughly 50/50, I feel pretty good about it.
Winning a road series is fun.
I’m gonna post this just because it’s so random: Favre is going to the Jets?? Man, the AFC East got a lot more interesting.
Personally, I’m still smarting from the Superbowl loss too much to be looking forward to football all that much, but Pats/Jets will be a fun one.
Not to go too far off topic, but I’d be curious to know the football allegiances of the site regulars. I’m a Pats fan, obviously.
i’m a skins fan SW.
hail to the redskins,
hail victory,
braves on the warpath,
fight for old DC!
campbell will have a break out year this year. mark my words.
I’m definitely a Pats fan – and yeah, I have the same issue you do regarding the Superbowl. I’m honestly not sure how much, if any, football I’ll watch this year. I still can’t read football articles without wincing.
I mean, I can’t complain too much, the Sox and the Celts both won championships in the last year.
But man, that fucking sucked.
