Some recent pictures forwarded to us (by our friend and Yankee Diehard Winthorpe) from a hardhat tour last week follow after the jump. Spring (and the smell of fresh paint) are in the air.
That’s one good-looking stadium. They’ve done an excellent job.
There’s a slight, dreamy haze in all the shots similar (but not necessarily akin) to how they made Cybill Sheppard prettier in “Moonlighting” with Vaseline on the glass when cutting away from hatchet-faced Bruce Willis.
Play ball indeed.
what’s with those metal poles by the front row seats? Is there going to be netting? I’m talking about the last picture, although you can see them in the other field shots as well.
wonder when those pix were taken. some heavy duty shadows on the field there.
I think Friday. But remember that the sun is low-ish in the sky, being February. June shouldn’t pose an enormous issue. October? The Yanks have to make it that far first!
The pics were taken Fri. Feb. 13th around 2pm. There are more shadows in winter/during standard time. The metal poles are probably for netting that is put up during batting practice.
They still haven’t sold the front 9 rows…so who would the netting protect?
Also, with Aro*d doing his best to kill his and the Yankees’ brand, who will drink the kool-aid going forward? (And the Yanks are complicit in that they banned follow-up questions in the press conference today.
