One for the Time Capsule, Boston Edition

Finally get to catch some live ball, and the team doesn’t disappoint.  Smoltz gets driven from the game after 5 innings and 100+ pitches, Manny goes 3-5 with a big opposite field dinger and looks like a real pro in each of his 5 at-bats, Clement throws a beautiful complete game with no walks, Youkilis exhibits a deft glove at first and a clutch bat, and Foulke doesn’t have to pitch.  What more could we ask for on a dank, gray Sunday in May?  Nice win.

  • I could not agree more. Hello? Clement bashers – are you out there? After watching Pavano struggle through as many starts as Clement has breezed through – where are you? Bob? C’mon, I know there has to be somebody. After watching Clement only give up two dingers all year (one of which came in the opening series of the year), hold his walk count to a miniscule amount in all starts but one, there has to be someone out there still wanting to say what a bad signing it was.

  • Don’t put us all in that boat Brad. On this one, we were ahead of the curve, and if you don’t want to just take our word for it, check out this thread from December:

  • Agreed. Sorry for the cloak, but I do recall having to stand up for the unknown, and hope for the best, which thank god, I got.
