  • so, my game channel is not working. it would be a huge service to me if someone were to update me periodically about what’s going on in the game.

    NickYF April 11, 2006, 1:43 pm
  • yanks up 3-1. wang is getting everyone out on grounders, but as soon as anyone puts the ball in the air they’re getting on base.

    mattymatty April 11, 2006, 1:48 pm
  • …which isn’t often.

    mattymatty April 11, 2006, 1:48 pm
  • Mays has walked the bases loaded with 2 outs and matsui up. 3-0 count… aaaaaaaand he walks him. How many walks are you allowed to do consecutively before the pitching coach comes out and says hi?

    mattymatty April 11, 2006, 2:06 pm
  • “Watching” this thing on ESPN’s vastly improved gamecast. Pretty sweet, and kind of old school. Matsui just walked with the bases juiced, scoring Johnny D. 4-1 Yanks. Hoot.

    YF April 11, 2006, 2:07 pm
  • …I guess four walks is enough. Mays is outta heeeeere!

    mattymatty April 11, 2006, 2:10 pm
  • Jorge grounds out. Sanders dinger. 4-2. Coulda been a blowout. Now a 2-run game. Grrr.

    YF April 11, 2006, 2:16 pm
  • this is driving me nuts…throw a strike!

    walein April 11, 2006, 2:21 pm
  • not that kind of strike

    walein April 11, 2006, 2:22 pm
  • If Wang is going to win 15 he’s going to have to pitch 5 innings, you know. Or become the best middle reliever in baseball history.

    SF April 11, 2006, 2:23 pm
  • A slugfest with the Royals? This does not bode….

    YF April 11, 2006, 2:23 pm
  • Beckett is busy walking people like he thinks he’s Mays. He’s walked three guys this inning, one with the bases loaded. This is maddening!

    mattymatty April 11, 2006, 2:25 pm
  • Hey, post that stuff in the Sox/Jays thread, MM!!

    SF April 11, 2006, 2:26 pm
  • J Buck, 9 hole hitter for the Kansas City Royals and 2 out Clutch monster against the Yankees….ugggghhh!

    walein April 11, 2006, 2:27 pm
  • SF, we’re going to win the thread head-to-head!

    NickYF April 11, 2006, 2:28 pm
  • Now he’s 3-2 on Frick’n Hillenbrand! I’ve never seen anyone throw this many pitches in the first inning. He’s at close to 40 pitches and he’s only got one out… Just got a double play to get out of the inning. He went to seven or eight pitches on each batter. Terrible… I’ve got the gamecast on though, so its possible he was being squeezed by the ump. I guess we’ll see if Towers starts walking guys left and right.

    mattymatty April 11, 2006, 2:30 pm
  • Looks like it. Especially if people start posting Sox-Jays stuff here. I’ll take a win from the big boys over a thread comment victory any day, though.

    SF April 11, 2006, 2:31 pm
  • I’m indescriminately posting. Sorry bout that…
Looks like the Royals were kicking the yankees wang a bit…

    mattymatty April 11, 2006, 2:33 pm
  • it says it’s bases loaded with Sheff about to come up. what’s happening/happened?!

    NickYF April 11, 2006, 2:37 pm
  • 3-0 count to shef

    walein April 11, 2006, 2:38 pm
  • Why is Damon sacrificing in the 4th? JOE!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    YF April 11, 2006, 2:39 pm
  • full count…DP…oh Bernie, caught off base.

    walein April 11, 2006, 2:39 pm
  • was that a sac? i thought it was a dribbler?

    walein April 11, 2006, 2:40 pm
  • Thats just awful dumb. Come on, Yankees fans, Torre may be able to manage people, but he’s a terrible in-game tactician. He can’t manage a bullpen, and he’s got possibly the best lineup in baseball against possibly the worst pitching staff, its the fourth inning, and he’s got their new $52 Million lead off man… bunting? Whaa…?

    mattymatty April 11, 2006, 2:40 pm
  • Looking messy.

    walein April 11, 2006, 2:41 pm
  • DP. Grrrrrrrrrrrr.

    YF April 11, 2006, 2:41 pm
  • My other brother says it wasn’t a bunt by the way? Any confirmation on that? 123 for Wang.

    walein April 11, 2006, 2:49 pm
  • Wait. Did I see that correctly? Does MLB Gameday say “Royals 5 Yankees 4”? How can this be?
Oh, wait. Wang started. Now I get it.

    SF April 11, 2006, 3:04 pm
  • And the Yankees fans go silent…

    SF April 11, 2006, 3:22 pm
  • In the interest of posteritiy, its now 7-4, Royals.

    mattymatty April 11, 2006, 3:29 pm
  • Seriously, where did all the Yankees fans go? I am starting to get worried. Get off that ledge, YF!!

    SF April 11, 2006, 3:33 pm
  • Steinbrenner must be ready to blow a gasket.

    Hudson April 11, 2006, 3:33 pm
  • present

    NickYF April 11, 2006, 3:35 pm
  • How are those predictions looking now, Nick?

    mattymatty April 11, 2006, 3:36 pm

    NickYF April 11, 2006, 3:40 pm

    NickYF April 11, 2006, 3:47 pm
  • I predict: Royals collapse.
    (now comne on, reverse jinx!)

    SF April 11, 2006, 3:51 pm
  • I think Andrew Sisco might be a bit out of his element.

    SF April 11, 2006, 3:53 pm
  • Buddy Bell, the Yankees fan’s best friend.

    mattymatty April 11, 2006, 3:53 pm
  • Still alot of baseball in this game, YF’s.

    Brad April 11, 2006, 3:54 pm
  • The Yankees now have 9 walks on the day. 9! TGRCIU (thats thank god robinson cano is up)

    mattymatty April 11, 2006, 3:54 pm
  • c’mon Damon! (weird)

    walein April 11, 2006, 3:59 pm
  • The Royals we all expected just showed up…

    SF April 11, 2006, 3:59 pm
  • I have to say. I know tha tthe royals are a bad team…but what was the thinking behind leaving sisco in after he didn’t get an out for the first 3 batters?

    walein April 11, 2006, 4:00 pm
  • What’s the backup option, Walein? What if everyone else sucks too?

    SF April 11, 2006, 4:01 pm
  • I set the odds at 1:2 that George Steinbrenner ends up a messy pile of tears if “these great Yankees” come back to win.

    SF April 11, 2006, 4:02 pm
  • YESSSSSS!!!!!

    walein April 11, 2006, 4:03 pm

    Spidey April 11, 2006, 4:04 pm
  • rally cap finished

    NickYF April 11, 2006, 4:06 pm
  • This is the type of season the Yankees are going to have: lots of 9-7, 10-6 wins. We know how those seasons end, though.

    SF April 11, 2006, 4:06 pm
  • You guys are watching a legend.

    walein April 11, 2006, 4:06 pm

    airk April 11, 2006, 4:15 pm
  • don’t sweat giving up 7 to the royals. sturtze and proctor continue to impress, and wang is well on his way to the 20 win season we all know he has in him. real nail bitter in the 9th, but the mans a legend (electric fence or not).

    sf rod April 11, 2006, 4:20 pm
  • cue “New York, New York”

    NickYF April 11, 2006, 4:20 pm
  • sf rod, that’s kind of messed up bringing up the electric fence. It’s not even funny, just mean. You’re better than that based on previosu posts.

    NickYF April 11, 2006, 4:23 pm
  • Sniff. I. am. so. choked. up. Sniff. That was the GREATEST win in my team’s history. These guys are just the best. I am speechless after an effort like that. And over such a gloriously put together team like the boys from Kansas City.
Pardon me while I dab the tears from my eyes.
Thanks. Well done, boys. You’re the best team in New York. You’ve done the city pro– hey, what the hell is that crap? Get that Mets flag OUTTA HERE, you PUNK. Yeah, YOU. WE’RE the best team in New York. Oh yeah? You wanna go? Right NOW. Yeah. I’ll throw down RIGHT NOW if you want. Where the f*ck is Sheff when you need hi-

    Big Stein April 11, 2006, 4:25 pm
  • “wang is well on his way to the 20 win season we all know he has in him.”
How’s that? Because he’s 0-0 after two starts?

    Anonymous April 11, 2006, 4:26 pm
  • my appologies, that was uncalled for. mlb audio difficulties have got me bitter.

    sf rod April 11, 2006, 4:35 pm
  • hey, no problem. We’ve all said things in the heat of the moment…

    NickYF April 11, 2006, 4:38 pm
  • If we’re giving up 7 to the Royals, what’s going to happen when we play the Sox???
