The Sox’ best hitter moves to the official DL – from The Boston Herald.
Edit: Let’s just make this the Gamer thread since the game is delayed.

What a season. Monday night’s win was quite satisfying: a great pitching performance, an Adrian Gonzalez home run, Jacoby Ellsbury’s home debut after his long stint on the DL, the return of Carl Crawford. With Dustin Pedroia supposedly returning from the DL later this week, the team seemed on the verge of turning it around. And then Big Papi hurts his Achilles heel rounding the bases … does that ever happen to anybody?
Next night John Lester like an idiot elects to pitch to Youk on a 3-0 count, one meatball later there goes the game. Lester can’t beat a pitcher who has not been himself since he pitched a perfect game (or maybe he’s himself now again, whatever). Quite logically, to fortify the rotation, those who have a say in these matters decide to send our best pitcher in recent weeks to the bullpen. Yeah sure, our supposed aces have been sooo brilliant lately. Obviously it’s time to bring back beer and chicken since this seems the only way to get Lester and Beckett going.
Oh, and the moron who manages this team has the universally feared Nick Punto pinch hit for the only marginally hot Pedro Chiriaco late in the game. Watch it, we’ll probably see quite a bit of Punto as a DH in upcoming games, bunting most of the time surely. What a mess!
Think of that, YFs, when A-Rod pops up in crucial moments.
I feel you PBE…
Remember when Chen Ming Wang broke his foot running the bases??? Ridiculous.
They’ve let the White Sox score in the 1st in every inning…though at least they’ve always come back with a run or two of their own in the bottom of that inning.
Can tomorrow-starter (I’m too apathetic to find out who that is) NOT give up a run or runs in the first?
errr…”score in the 1st in every game of the series”, I mean…
Ellsbury on fiyah. May he find his way all the way around the bases again…you, uh, might wanna steal 2nd to have a chance in hell, Jacoby.
Crawford aflame, too. 1st and 3rd, 0 out.
Codyyyyyyy Rooooooooooooss. Over the wall (I’ll bet it was mammoth, but I’ll only be able to tell when I watch the highlights later). 4-1 Good Sox.
Injury notwithstanding, Ross has been a pretty amazing pick-up. Too bad our starting pitchers are HIDEOUSLY AWFUL.
13-pitch inning for Doubront. Solid. Hopefully he can go his standard six–up to 73 pitches now after 4.
Ross with ANOTHER 3-run job over the Monster! Gonzalez follows with his own. 8-1. SWEET!
White Sox’ Hernandez goes 4.0+ with 13 baserunners (having just given up his first walk to Aviles for his second baserunner in the 5th), 1 of them on a double, and 3 home runs (totalling 7 RBI). Ouch.
Next 3 dudes get sat down supah-fast. 4 innings to go.
Ovah. 10-1. Win tomorrow and it’s golden. Lose and it’s yet more underachieving.
