Put Up The Chairs: Sox-Yanks Gamer III

There’s sweeping to do. Ryan Dempster looks to shut the door on the Yankees and send them into that deep, dark oh-and-three hole. Then again, both the Yankees AND Sox started last year with three losses and the Bombers went on to take the East. Andy Pettitte is on the bump in the Bronx. Comment away.

  • Well, I have my broom out.

I’m thinking we might not win a game until about June 14th?

I’ve never looked at the draft before…starting to check it out now. Get a head start on our top 5 pick!!!

  • Failure. In every aspect of the game.

    Can’t complain though…had a sick 18 year run!

  • I lived through my entire childhood with nothing but Yankee failure so a couple years here won’t kill me.

We sucked from the time I understood baseball until my Sophomore year in college. Maybe 83-ish through 1996.

  • Hey, Lockland!

Overbay makes my feigned insouciance reveal the petty brat I really am.

  • …so Ryan Dempster gets the calls on the outside…but Mariano Rivera doesn’t.

    Makes sense. Not. Asshole.

  • Finally.

8 innings from Pettitte + 1 inning of Mo = win every time

Off to Detroit to get crushed. Good luck in the Great White North SF’s.

  • I wish I could have seen this game. Listening/reading is not quite the same thing.

  • Mo was getting squeezed at the beginning of the 9th, but the strike zone opened up a bit more by the end (specifically Bradley’s at-bat). Balances out some, I guess.

Good series gentlemen, Dempster’s stuff looked good despite the outcome.

  • “…Balances out some, I guess. …”

i hear ya ath…looked that way to me too…we’ve all heard about how the veteran, particularly one with mo’s reputation will typically get the benefit of the doubt from the umps over a rookie…one of those “unwritten rules” i guess

  • Every pitch Mo throw is a strike…in my opinion.

    :)

  • Pettite was on his game last night. Very impressive for the miles he’s logged.
