Rain, Rain, Go Away…

The Yankees got rained out twice this week in Cleveland (they throw Sabathia, Kuroda, and Pettitte at the Orioles this weekend).

The Red Sox are rained out tonight (no word yet on skipping Doubront, etc.).

Stupid rain.

Still, looks like it means extra baseball for fans of both teams later in the season, as no make-up game is scheduled for this month in either case.

EDIT: they’re totally skipping Doubront.  Lester/Buchholz/Dempster vs. the Rays through Monday, Doubront/Aceves/Lester in Cleveland.

  • Here’s what the rainouts will do to the Yankees in May when they will attempt to make up the games:

    May 12th: Game in KC
    May 13th: Double-header in Cleveland
May 14th: Host Mariners for three in a row in New York

  • Sox play 2 in an already-scheduled series with TB, June 18th (2-game series becomes 3). They have an off-day before that series.
