Matt Harrison has a been dazzling in his first two starts of the season for the Rangers. He’s on the mound tonight at Yankee Stadium, while Ivan Nova hopes to bounce back from a dissapointing performance against Boston his last time out.
Comment away.

Quick question: any mlb.tv subscribers? I got rid of cable/satellite at home and am considering the mlb.tv subscription to scratch the ball(base) itch. At least I am going to buy the audio feed. Any opinions on the service?
Love the audio feed – like switching back and forth between the “good” and “evil” teams’ broadcasters and like being able to listen to games any time during or after they’re played (latter good when on lots of planes during actual game time). I subscribed to tv but feed not great in many places to which I travel and so video was jumpy or altogether unworkable. Was a waste for that purpose. For full-time viewing in domestic strong bandwidth locales I imagine much better but don’t know as I watched on my tv when here.
If you buy the dot-tv, do you get the audio as well?
I like it. I have the TV service, not that it has provided any entertainment value yet, but it’s pretty good. I don’t have the travel issues that IH does.
It’s good for watching on the iPad when the wife wants to see something else. And it broadcasts over Apple TV so if you get that device you can watch straight through that ($99 for the ATV box). Beware: the app is for either iPad or iPhone and MLB makes you buy both to use on both devices, which is kind of shitty. But the service is good.
I have a couple Roku players, which I think have MLB capability too.
Just bit the bullet for the .tv package. Thanks for the feedback.
Okay, this is pretty sweet.
Russel Martin, nice, throw!
Can’t get the picture-in-picture to work so I can watch the Yanks and Sox at the same time.
Double play but a Beltre scores.. Texas up 1-0 in the 2nd.
Funky play as a hard shot caroms off Teixeira to Cano, who throws back to Teixeira to end the inning. 3-4-3 out.
Stuck on train and wi-fi signal too poor to enable mlb audio feed so welcome the commentary ag!!
Not much to comment about except that the Yankees are squandering chances and Nova is allowing baserunners.
Arod stops a hot shot and throws to Cano, who drops the ball but they award the out as Kinsler is forced, saying it was on the transfer. Looked like Cano got away with one to me.
Young drives in a run scoring Andrus with a double off the right-center wall. Nova is at 47 pitches in the third. Two outs, Young on second, Beltre goes down swinging.
Granderson hits a hard shot to right… Cruz got a glove on it but lost it and Curtis is on second on the E9.
Could have been a double.. Cruz had to cover a lot of ground to make an effort and was running full sprint towards the fence, but looks like it should have been caught
Jeter with a fly to right center advances Granderson to third on the tag.
One out, Granderson on third, Swisher singles past short to score a run.
Teixeira 463s to end the inning.
2-1 Rangers heading into the fourth.
in here talking to yourself, ag?
yep!
Another double play. That’s three by the Yankees, squandering runners. Ick.
so what’s the deal with hughes? I heard DL?
Yes, “dead arm”.. Colon to replace him in the rotation.
um, sorry about that.
Now Nova hits a guy to go with four walks. Fifth inning, runners on first and second, no outs. Trouble. Runners move up on a wild pitch.
Soft grounder to Jeter scores Moreland. Bad throw by Derek, Teixeira makes an awesome scoop.
Hey rbf, I’m following ag’s every word!!
Another walk. ugh.
Young crushes a single to right. Texas leads 4-1.
Nova’s done.
Jones made a good play but there was no way he could throw out the mercurial Borbon.
Sorry.. that single was to left, obviously.
David Robertson comes on. Interesting stat about Young.. most hits in the bigs since 2003 outside of Ichiro.
Now a wild pitch by Robertson pushes the Texas runners to second and third. One out, with Beltre at the plate.
Please include reference to Dave’s spin rate in your updates ;). Sounds like the onus is on the offense again. Unfortunately the Rangers pen is not the Orioles pen.
Yes, Robertson is definitely showing some hop in his pitch. Unfortunately, it hopped a foot in front of the plate.
Beltre pops out to shallow left. two away to Cruz.
Cruz gets ahead 3-0, but now two fastballs and Cruz misses both. Now a wild pitch scores another run as Cruz walks. Nova and Robertson have been abusing Russel Martin.
I’m out for a bit.. have to go get dinner for the fam.
5-1 Texas and the top of the fifth isn’t over yet. I should have eaten earlier.
Not quite as colorful as when Krueg is doing the one man commentary…
Wow, the pitching is a problem. Should Ivan Nova’s nickname be “4 and 1/3” or “4 and 2/3”? Bummer to wake up early for this.
> Not quite as colorful as when Krueg is doing the one man commentary…
It’s true. We’re both from “Mel” Schools Of Commentary. I’m from Allen College. He graduated Summa Cum Tourette from Blanc University majoring in Yosemite.
Speaking of whom, hey Krueg, are you watching Buff live today or DVRing it? I don’t get TSN so I’m going to have to go out and watch it, but have to go to work before the game will be over. Agh.
And Pronger’s still out. Too bad.
