Red Sox go to Canada – Sox/Jays Gamer I

Sox currently lead 1-0 3-0 5-0 and have already squandered a bases-loaded, no-out opportunity capitalized on an early bases-loaded opportunity.

Who would have thought Jason Varitek would have more HR and RBI than Victor Martinez at this point of the season?

  • Yeah…I was working on a series but finals and graduation have gotten in the way.
I almost have the first part done. I just need to sit down and write it out, it’s interesting stuff.

  • Wow. This is ridiculous.

  • Nice Andrew!
    Not nice: Beckett’s hanging everything.

  • Gonna be an up and down kinda night…

  • At least our offense is here for once.

  • Good lord, can this team do one f*cking thing well?
    What a bad team.

  • Nice work, Josh. The offense gives you eight runs in four innings and it won’t stand.
    F*cking pathetic.

  • Beckett walks the first two of the 4th, and he’s outta there. Glad to see Tito has a quicker hook tonight.
Also, the new pitch counter for NESN is nice.

  • Wow, neither starter had ANYTHING tonight. Guess it’s a which long-reliever sucks less-off.

  • I will soon be in possession of an iPad, and am currently wondering why I paid $14.99 for the MLB app, and am certainly reconsidering buying MLB.tv for the thing to watch games. Seriously, I may be better off buying 100 one-dollar app games. More entertaining.
What an awful season so far, between our AAA outfield and the lack of performance. Worst in a loooooong time.

  • I want to know where the other half of the split squad is playing today.

  • Is Bill Hall really a better option right now than Josh Reddick?

  • I can’t believe I just typed that.

  • Speaking of apps, for anyone who uses mlb.tv–
If you have a PS3, they just released a really slick (and Free!) app for the playstation that runs mlb.tv very well on your television.
Also, this is not how I would have seen the game tonight unfolding. Got a ways to go…

  • Hey SF, how often do you use the mlb.tv audio on your iPhone? Lately the NESN broadcasts on it have not been consistently good; sometimes it will play for an hour straight, and other times it will go in and out despite me having complete coverage.

  • I’m hoping this gets to the point where it’s 20+-20+. Wouldn’t even care who won.
I wonder if there has ever been a major league game where both teams score 20 runs. Or even 15 runs. Someone should use their baseball-reference skills and look up the answer. Probably just go by ‘total runs scored’ and work your way down.

  • On August 25, 1922, the highest scoring game in major league history took place: the Chicago Cubs defeated the Philadelphia Phillies 26–23, a total of 49 runs.

  • Are you sure that wasn’t a mislabeled Bears-Eagles game?

    Atheose - SF April 26, 2010, 10:22 pm
  • Ath –
I haven’t purchased MLB.tv yet – had it last year and used it quite a bit on the iPhone. Waiting until I get the iPad for this season, though the Sox are making the purchase look a tad, uh, inadvisable.

  • Ahh okay. Last week every single Sox game had problems loading; I got the error message “temporarily unavailable” every time. Since Friday it’s been working fine though.

  • Just got home from coaching a Little League game that was scoreless through the first 4 innings and ended 3-0. Sounds like my 10 year olds were playing better baseball than these guys.

  • It’s a miracle we won that game. Great showing from the offense at least. Too bad we can’t say the same about Beckett.

    Atheose - SF April 26, 2010, 11:15 pm
  • a win’s a win…just think how the team will roll when that whole pitching/defense thing kicks in… ;)

    dc April 27, 2010, 8:05 am
  • Yeah, when that pitching/defense thing kicks in we might actually catch the Blue Jays … and maybe win a few interleague games …
